Game shows and autism go hand in hand. TV Tropes and autism go hand in hand. So naturally, game shows and TV Tropes are the hypotenuse in that particular triangle of 'tism.

From their page on Wheel of Fortune: "People don't like my show as much as they like that snooty Trebek guy!" (Fun fact: This stuff was entirely added by a guy who was on the show about five years ago, and now spends all of his time bitching about the puzzle writing, contestants being idiots, the producer being an idiot, etc. How the fuck do you get so butthurt over televised Hangman?

From the "What an Idiot" subpage for Jeopardy! of all things: "Lol, kids these days don't watch Sesame Street." Guess what, I got this one wrong too. Doesn't make me an idiot. Honestly, if there's one game show you can generally describe without using the word "idiot", it'd be this one. I'm guessing whoever added these was high off their own farts when they got a clue right from their couch that the contestants didn't.

Trivia subpage for Jeopardy! Apparently sharing a LAST name is close enough. As are aliases.

====

YMMV on Jeopardy! You can smell the "well, ACTUALLY" in that middle entry.

====

From the Wheel of Fortune page. Apparently long streaks of bad luck on a show where luck plays an element is "epic fail" now. And yes, a lot of this this was added by the same "REEEE THE PUZZLES SUCK" guy.

====

The "Horrible" subpage for Game Shows isn't as spergy as I thought, probably because Channel Autism and Entard wouldn't stoop so low as to review a game show. But that's where Game Show Garbage steps in. (Oh, and apparently also TV Trash. )

Don't know what Game Show Garbage is? (Spoilered for tl;dr and slight offtopicness.)

It's a blog that's been around for ten fucking years now. Started by an uncharismatic, unfunny fatass who specialized in "shit nobody cares about, not even game show fans". To wit: an obscure dumb answer from a short-lived revival that nobody saw of a classic game show, something that only happened in an unaired pilot episode and was therefore not seen by anyone outside the fandom, something that's been on a billion blooper specials by now, a lame and forgettable SNL parody that nobody watched, and an admittedly terrible yet forgettable late 80s home shopping game show that nobody cared about until it found its way to YouTube.

The most notorious entry on Game Show Garbage was one flaming the Price Is Right fansite golden-road.net, which admittedly can be a hive of 'tism in its own right, but at least has a fairly symbiotic relationship with much of the show's crew (except the time one guy managed to piss off Drew Carey). The first draft of the entry cited a lot of information from ED, which caused both golden-road.net and the comparatively more level-headed Game Show Forum to tear the blogger a new one. To be fair, the entry was heavily revised after said reaction, and later taken down entirely.

The writer later trooned out and started making their "inductions" as videos, which consist of a nasal stuttery voice babbling at the camera for up to a half-hour on some stupid game show nobody saw that was just shilling for fucking Family Dollar of all things. Somehow, the video inductions have only gotten worse. This fat fuck has gotten fatter, lazier, and more stuttery, and more pause-laden with newer videos despite having done the video inductions for nearly five years. I've actually heard audible panting and wheezing in newer reviews.

Has anyone noticed TVTropes tries to push off this series called Whately Universe or something because it's like an example in almost every page I believe.
Wow, apparently, I'd been browsing TV Tropes for so long that it took until reading this post to realize that I've never once heard that series even mentioned anywhere outside of TV Tropes. Seriously, what is their deal with it?

Tropers are also obsessed with Fallout: Equestria and another shitty edgy pony fanfic called the 'Pony POV Series' that has something to do with every single pony character being tortured and raped in first-person POV, hence the name.

Honestly, if there's one game show you can generally describe without using the word "idiot", it'd be this one.
With their answer format, there's hardly a more exceptional show. I saw one that gave out cash prizes for opening virtual boxes, like so:
Contestant: "I'll open box 28!"
Host: "Are you sure? Why not open box 33?"
Contestant: "nnnnnn... nnnnngh.... <shot of wife nodding> nnnnnn..... <ad break> nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn.... Yes, I'm sure."
Host: "You win <drum roll> $2500! Now, let's look at box 33.... if you picked that, you could've won... $10! Whoa, good choice!"
and it still didn't kill off my brain cells quite as fast.

Isn't Whateley that transgendered, pornographic version of X-Men with cameos from the Cthulhu mythos?

If you're looking for pornography (although Tropers will fap to *anything*) you're going to be disappointed. There is that one story illustration showing a smiling baby shoggoth being hugged by a nubile (cisgendered) teen that Google had problems with, but the majority of the sex is "fade to black" scenes.

- Yes, the earliest stories were originally hosted at Sapphire's Place and Big Closet, Top Shelf. Some still are. Back in 2004, there weren't that many websites that would host TG content, regardless of rating. The "canon" stories in continuity can be found at The Crystal Hall

- Most of the POV characters are trangendered, which follows from the original idea being to write a story arc based on X-Men: Evolution but with trans characters. That does tend to place the main focus on high-school aged kids.

- There are very few tropes that don't get used and abused. After 12 million words, I would have thought they'd all be used. Go figure.

- The writing varies from >ouch< to very good.

The misaimed fandom trope can get ridiculously long.Apparently any time a show/movie/whatever is popular with people who supposedly should not be fans of it or the characters they need to spell it out.Apparently there's this unwritten rule that unless you 'get' the message of whatever the author intended you can't enjoy it or something.

Fan Dumb sounds like something an 8 year old thinking he's clever would say. Do people unironically say that?

Scholars debate about the intent and message of books all the time, but comparing tropers to scholars is an insult to scholars.

I don't see how having the voice actress of Dexter die is automatically harsher in hindsight.Sure she wasn't old but still people do die.By this logic all movies where the actors have passed on are harsher in hindsight.When Kirk Douglas dies will the scene of him being crucified at the end of Spartacus be harsher in hindsight as well?Never mind Kirk is 102.

I've said it before, but as soon as Sean Bean dies for real almost every one of his roles is gonna get a Harsher in Hindsight.
