I’m a registered massage therapist and I’ve been working for 2 years. I identified as enby until about a year ago, now trans masc. I’m not out at work(a spa) or with my in-home clients, everyone assumes I’m a cis woman and I just don’t correct them. I’ve started making changes at work like not being booked when a client requests a female RMT. I’ve started hrt 2 weeks ago and I’m absolutely thrilled. I have always had concerns about what transitioning in this field might look like but it stresses me out a lot so I have a hard time giving it thought. Well tonight there was an instance that might have outed me to my coworkers. It had to do with a client requesting a female RMT and the appointment not going to me even though I was next on the queue for bookings. This just happened and that treatment is still going on so idk if any conversations are going to happen. I’m hoping she’s lets it go, she was upset that she had to work later when I should have gotten the booking. This forces me to actually think about things now though. I don’t know how my in-home clients are going to respond when my appearance starts changing from the T. I’m assuming they will stop booking if they have an issue with it. I also assume that at the spa I will get backlash from some coworkers because that is what I’ve heard has happened to a trans woman who used to work here years ago. If any of you guys are RMTs, especially if you transitioned during your career, I would super appreciate hearing your stories and advice. There are just so many unknowns and it feels like it’s starting to get real now.

Well, I'm glad that she started to think about the possible consequences of medical transition two weeks after she started it. Seriously, do these people even have the ability to think forward and anticipate possible implications for certain actions? They always seem surprised when the obvious happens.

I care, actually. But not because I think of her as a man. Pooners take testosterone, and often they take it in the form of gel. The gel can basically get everywhere they touch. Small amounts of course, but to a woman even this small amount could cause some trouble (acne and more body and facial hair). Having someone like this rub my body for 50 minutes or so? No thank you. I also have no intention to ask the pooner if she uses gel or takes shots, she probably will find this question inappropriate and I don't trust her answer anyway, she could be lying.

There is also the fact that some pooners, after being on T for a while, do actually look like men. So I wouldn't want such pooner because I am not comfortable with a male masseuse/massage therapist, unless they tell me that's actually a female... and then I don't want her because of the above.

We are a people who transect race, gender, religion, country, language, physicality, ideology, etc. We are a culture older than any nation, a people who predate and shall exist after the human race. Our people are too good to be relegated to bring murdered in bathrooms, hunted on the internet, and oppressed by global governments.

I understand many of us wish to see our transness as nothing interesting. We wish to simply exist as ordinary. But the powers that be are forcing our hands, to admit we are completely and positively EXTRAORDINARY! If we are to defend our way of life, we must come together and reject the cisnormative regimes which seek to tear us down.

But how is it we harness the trans power which we so obviously hold? This is not an easy question, and I cannot provide a solid "theory of everything". But I can utilize the resources given to me and suggest a simple, humble beginning: connection! What separates, say, a Bolivian, or a Tajik, or a Czech from any other people on the planet? When they wake up and head out the door for work, they see Bolivians, or Tajiks, or Czechs. When a transgender wakes up, they must greet their fellow transgenders.

I suggest the formation of vigilance cells comprised of at least 3 transgender individuals, to a maximum of 10 total individuals, located within a singular 10 mile radius. Cells will be tasked in keeping tabs of each other and assisting each other in surviving this harsh reality. Link together with your brothers, sisters, and siblings to make sure they are vigilant, and keep them from the clutches of tyrannical government and the overwhelming force of... well... the universe. Furthermore, cells will connect with other cells to share ideas, resources, and information. Work together, play together, share food together, share advice together. The biggest enemy to our way of life is isolation. We are small neurons of a collective mind. Neurons are useless unless connected!

However, you may ask, where are these neurons to be connected? This I cannot say. Reddit is an open forum, and open place to speak your mind and inevitably get shot down by the moderators, or god forbid the admins. Perhaps a subreddit for this purpose, or a discord. I am not sure. I can't tell if it's the male animator's view or the fictional view of the main character, but it seems like he feels the need to portray himself as a victim of something so that he doesn't look like total piece of shit for choosing cartoon porn over a real loving relationship. Maybe the hallucinatory animation is meant to contrast with the lyrics of his actual girlfriend singing to him.
