I mean I vaguely remember registering to vote when I turned 18, but I wasn't given a card or anything.

Unfortunately, this also illustrates the problems of doing that. Suddenly, both the audience and the characters have to act like Ellen Page is a big, tough, handsome man and always was and there is not and never has been anything feminine about her. To treat trans people as they want to be treated means bullshitting absolutely everyone.

Gay marriage being banned would require another SCOTUS ruling and I don't think the current justices have expressed any interest in it.

Either way, if public sympathy turns away from gay marriage, yes, it is entirely the fault of the troons. LGBTQ acceptance was on the rise but then the troons went and completely fucked it up. I used to have a lot of sympathy for LGBTQ people but now whenever I find out someone is not straight and/or not cis, I immediately have to put up internal boundaries because the chances of them being an annoying crazy person are a lot higher. It sucks and I feel bad because I've known plenty of normal gay people, and I know gay people are sick of being associated with this shit.

LGB all have something in common: experiencing same-sex attraction. TQ doesn't have that in common.
A lot of trans people are exclusively opposite-sex attracted. Think of all the "trans lesbians" that get mocked on this website.

That's ok. Normal gay people still exist and will continue to exist. Being gay isn't like being trans. Gay people don't need surgery, gay people don't need to falsify their birth certificates. You don't need to take hormone pills for the rest of your life to stay gay. Most gay men aren't drag queens.
If you know that most gay people are normal, and that gay people are sick of being associated with trans shit, you can stop associating them with trans shit. I know I have. There are just way too many married fathers who discover their inner female self for me to see trans as being an extra form of gay.

I used to get a postcard every year to remind me the government knows I want to vote, but I think they stopped a while ago, and it never said affiliation. Granted I am not registered with a party... and female, and don't want to date this lunatic, so this is a pointless digression.

This sounds like a troon talking big, though. In most states he could much more easily look up voter registration records of his many suitors himself. Plenty of cows here have been partially phonebooked with their voter registration records, and/or shamed for politically posting but not actually casting ballots.
