One of the things that troonery does offer is a sense of identity, community and belonging, which makes it very appealing to people who need those things*. These are very human things to need and want, but it doesn't mean that you're not your real sex. So they turn to their hugbox for the comforting embrace of reassurance and to silence their doubts for a few hours. Pretend you’re not pretending, so I can pretend I’m not pretending.

*Of course, the troon cult will also ostracize you as soon as you start to criticize them or point out the flaws in their reasoning, which just goes to show you that their community is built on a foundation of bullshit.

Are troons not aware that hypotheticals like this are completely irrelevant to their situations? I see the one about whether or not you'd press a magic button that would change you into the opposite sex a lot, but modern technology can't do that. You can't restart life as a girl. You can only be the same person with the same life, except medically unnecessary exogenous hormones are making your dick hurt now.

I just want to be treated like a girl. Not a trans girl or a trans woman or god forbid someone treats me like a "man who wants to be a woman". I've been out for 6 years and on estrogen for 2 and some change. I've had thousands of interactions with thousands of people and every single one has treated me like a trans girl.

Like, yall know how trans girls kinda gravitate towards each other? I kinda hate it, bc it means all of them know I'm trans and talk about being trans and want to know about my trans experience. Because I'm trans, and nothing else about me. And most times, they only talk to me because I'm trans.

And then cis people, they'll usually treat me fine until I fuck up some social norm, or my makeup fades a little to reveal shaving scars. Then I'm treated like I've got a horrendous disease. "Oh, just so you know, she's trans."

I'm so outwardly feminine, in my posture, in my makeup, in my clothing, in my accessorizing. But it doesn't matter, once someone knows I'm trans they treat me like a different person. With only 2 exceptions in my life. My ex girlfriend, the saint she is, and my childhood friend, who knew I was trans before I did. That's it! Two whole people in my life treated me the same they would a cis woman.

I hate it.

Edit: a friend of mine put it best: it's just a part of me, not even a very large one. I'd prefer to be seen as my whole self instead. But even if they see the whole of me, they still treat me like a broken toy, because I'm trans

I legit think they get into these mental pretzels because it's a problem of natural desires vs. induced desires. Getting into the trans cult and perhaps being into shipping/gay porn has induced a desire to play out what has become a dominate fantasy of theirs. But naturally, there is the desire to be feminine and appreciated for that. Perhaps they aren't conventionally attractive and feel awkward doing these things because they do not see themselves as cute and pretty enough. Which sounds dumb because it kind of is but it's also a feeling a lot of girls can have. There's always this sense that pretty and cute things are for pretty and cute girls. Another example of why it's a bad idea to stray away from what is natural to you and not having boundaries around your sexuality.

Current mainstream really only reduces femininity down to being sexualized as well. Because the feminine nature of being motherly, a homemaker, being into nurturing roles such as a teacher/nurse, and etc. is treated as something bad because it's "traditional" and restrictive or is pretended as not being generally feminine in the first place. Feminine styles are considered either childish or sexy, with no care for elegant. Modesty is a bad word because you're a slut shamer. I honestly really hate it. Everything is so unbalanced these days. When you point it out everyone acts like you're the one taking crazy pills.
