Plastic surgery that can completely change your appearance (ie, bring you back to the character creation screen with all physical options available, including body and style of walk) costs 500 credits, which is the same as two sandwiches. So by tranny standards, it's basically utopia.
The complaints are probably more that the outfits are all super ugly. I actually agree with that, they pretty clearly just made a bunch of male outfits and then half-heartedly adjusted the waist slider for the female body. Men and women also get the same hairstyles, which are all quite short. That sort of makes sense for someone who has to regularly wear a spacesuit, but space travel has been common for two centuries so by then surely someone would have figured out that you can just tie long hair back. There are multiple brightly dyed colour options available, but the texture work isn't exactly top notch for any hair colour, so it looks kind of bad. Women can't have beards, which makes sense.
Oh, and for no trans characters: I've found one actual tranny in the whole game, and it's kind of a joke character (some woman goes to the plastic surgery place before every date to mess with her boyfriend, you'll likely encounter her very early in the game, she's sort of right in the middle of the main city). There's also one man who speaks pure valley girl, I don't know enough western "culture" to guess at what he's supposed to identify as. Your interaction with him is very short.

I’m 30 and genderfluid. I’m currently living with my widower 74yo father. I’ve been wanting to transition since 2010 or so but always thought I’d need to move out first. I wasn’t able to do that at eighteen and then my mom became terminally ill. She died a few years ago and I decided to stay with my dad for the rest of his life. I’m not interested in romance so that’s not an issue.

Last year I came out to him as nonbinary. He didn’t get it. He was a bit patronizing but not mad. He told me he had never heard of the idea of “nonbinary”. He doesn’t watch or read the news outside of local news, so he doesn’t know about the culture wars and yadda yadda. He’s also liberal but in that boomer way where they’re still not as leftist as, say, millennials.

I asked him to use they/them pronouns but maybe he/him would have been easier. He doesn’t gender me correctly. I don’t mind too much, but I’m too anxious to come out to him. I suffer from OCD and GAD. I’m not worried about being kicked out but sc cared of rejection or being mocked. I’m not exactly independent emotionally nor can I afford to move out.

I’ve been socially transitioning but want to go on T and get top surgery within the next 5 years. I refuse to start without discussing it with him first though. It seems rude and would only lead to a more negative reaction 10/1. I’m not sure how to discuss it with my dad. He’s dyslexic, functionally illiterate, and didn’t graduate high school. He’s not dumb but this sort of thing Is out of his understanding. I’m not sure how to discuss it. If my mom was around, I could talk to her and she’d tell him but…

My therapist told me that my father is probably too old to budge and he’ll likely never accept it. He recommended waiting until he died because I don’t consider transitoning an urgent priority. I’m not in danger nor am I depressed. I’ve told my therapist that I want to transition but don’t need to right now. It’s not life-or-death. Only socially transitioning is just an annoyance.

.But my dad’s only in his early 70s. He could last twenty or more years. I also don’t want to regret not coming out to him. I feel a lot of baggage about not coming out to my mom.

I’m not sure what to do. Anyone else in similar situations in the past?
