Plus, PTSD would imply he actually went and DID something to end up traumatized.

PTSD isn't something only frontline soldiers get. Childhood neglect, the sudden death of loved ones, and other traumatic circumstances can also lead to PTSD.

Well, he was talking about how so many people he knew either got killed or ended up committing suicide once back home, so it sounds like something might really have happened out there. They can't all have been ineffectual loons.

Yes, I know. I have it, and I can almost guarantee you that he does not. Or if he does, his symptoms are not indicative of it. His delusions, specifically of grandeur, make it seem like he's schizo or schizo-affective.

Either way, I think we can agree that he's nuts and this is going nowhere fast.

Just got done reading this thread and Taxman reminds me of a much more sadder and pathetic version of Jace if he were a alcoholic brony instead of a dudebro stoner. With Jace you'd never think he'd be a real threat to anyone because of how absurd and childish he was, but with Taxman he really gives off this creepy Jim Jones/mass shooter vibe that he might actually try something dangerous, especially if the story of him being an Afghanistan war veteran with PTSD is true.

While I honestly doubt his going to pull something stupid anytime soon, Taxman is definitely going to be one of those slow moving train wrecks that you can't look away from becasue you just got to know how it ends up.

I agree completely, I specifically thought of Jonestown. That kool-aid is gonna be spiked with more than poison. I am not sorry. :left:

He actually doesn't look that bad. I imagine he's capable as passing as normal.....until the moment he starts ranting about his magic extra-dimensional pony husbando.

Do we even know if he went overseas? I just assumed he washed out within a month of enlisting.

I'm new to this whole saga, but I watched those videos where he was talking about his old army days, and it sounded like he was getting somewhere up until something happened to him. Does anyone know what his real story is? It sounds like he got PTSD from his tour in Afghanistan, then came home, became an alcoholic instead of getting treatment, and went insane.
Honestly his brief little moments of clarity kinda make me feel for him. His life has been pretty shitty and he's fully aware of it, he just drinks and clings to the possibility of equestria being real as a way of forgetting the bad in his life and giving him some kinda hope that there's a world out there that he can function in. But then you have moments like the one where he mentioned feeling ashamed that one of his best friends killed himself after he had been discharged because his friend needed help and he was sitting on his ass watching ponies, or how he talked about how he was constantly bullied and called gay which made him feel miserable when he found out he was gay. But then he follows all that up with long rants about how he'll move to pony world and its pretty clear that this is all just his sad optimistic way to get him to keep going in life. I really do feel bad for tax, but at this point there's probably no way to help him with his delusions without making him completely lose his will to live.

How does he afford all these pricey liquors and wines he drinks all the time?

I assume he fills out his drinking with less expensive shitty liquor, too, because no way can he afford to stay constantly plastered on the shit he drinks on video.

I wondered that myself. That French absinthe is expensive for someone working part-time stocking a wine shop. Maybe he's occasionally taking advantage of a five-finger discount?

Well, he also gets a pension, and he openly said he saved his money up in the army.

A VA disability pension? What percent disabled?
I don't know what percent disabled he is, and seeing how he has never had a proper psych evaluation, it's likely that his pension is nonexistent, and he could be making it up so people take pity on him. Either that, or he's been diagnosed and denies that he has PTSD or any psychological issues that he was diagnosed with, which would explain why he doesn't trust psychologists.
