I can verify that his methods worked through extensive testing, although 'genius' might have been a tad strong of a word to use.

So this man is able to contact Equestria through extensive meditation. I have replicated that method, with focus on Gensokyo. After a while, I drifted into this odd plane that was dark purple with eyeballs everywhere - it kinda creeped me out looking like something Lovecraft would write about. However, Yukari - who was actually so beautiful I don't think any word can describe her adequately - was waiting to speak to me about my destiny in Gensokyo.
