Can we start a Smash Deadpool tally for suicides caused by the final character reveal?

I'm shooting for three confirmed and sox attempted.

I long for the day when Smash players finally realize there's no shame in admitting they hate losing. I've never seen a community complain about characters as much as the Smash one.

On the Hax and Leffen drama, I hate that Leffen had the kind of God-tier blessing to have a total sperg like Hax$ try to call him out.

Leffen and the cronies he calls a fanbase have been a toxic blight in whatever game Leffen tries to play for the longest time, and it's always an unecessary amount of drama when that fucking cuck gets his shit kicked in at any other game he tries to play only to play the victim and call those games bad.

But no, Hax had to drink the kool aid. What a wonderous turn of events for Leffen.

Warning: Spergy Infodump incoming

Actual, legitimate criticisms of Leffen that Hax made:
* Leffen was rude, immature and callous as a teenager
* Leffen tries to foster a better public image but still has many of the negative qualities he had back then
* Leffen starts trouble and conflict in communities and friend groups out of spite or pettiness
* Because of a completely petty, juvenile internet arguement (that, to be fair, was mostly instigated by Hax) Leffen tried to screw up Hax's plans to get the competitive tournament scene not to accept Hax's special controller.
* Leffen complained about an unflattering but arguably accurate portrayal in a documentary and the director changed it not because it wasn't true, but because Leffen and his fans were complaining
* Leffen's fanbase acts toxic and stupidly and Leffen does very little to try to discourage this
* Leffen tends to act manipulatively as a way of conflict resolution and that isn't acceptable at all
Maybe this is because I know too much or too little about the scene, but all of these points just seem already well known. And if not, then not surprising at all for Leffen to do. Leffen is an asshole, everyone knows this. Leffen has toxic fans, if you didn't know this you still wouldn't be surprised that an asshole has toxic fans. If you didn't know he tried to get some random ass controller he didn't use banned, you still wouldn't be surprised because again he's an asshole.

Every good point just seems to reiterate things everyone knows and accepts. That Leffen is kind of a dick but hasn't really crossed any major lines for a while. That's why I don't understand all positivity about the documentary. Take away all the sperging and we're still left with someone going through hysterics about things everyone knows and has gotten over.

-----------
To be clear, not saying you're cheerleading for the documentary. It was just a good list of anything that could be said was good about it.

Claims/Concepts that aren't legitimate and make Hax look delusional:
* Leffen's bad behaviour cannot be atrributed to mere immaturity or pettiness, but can only be explained by deep-rooted psychological or personality disorders
* Despite having no background in psychology or medicine, Hax is able to determine that Leffen is actually has a personality disorder somewhere on the "Dark Tetrad" spectrum
* Browsing multiple Wikipedia articles and watching anime is anywhere near enough research to make one an expert in psychology or understand complex psychological concepts
* Using catastrophic and dramatic language is appropriate for situations as small and childish as this
* It is at all reasonable to compare someone to dictators or anime villains because you've had disagreements with them online
* Because Leffen has fans and relationships with torunmanet organizers, he is in total control of the Smash community and oppresses the people in it
* Leffen, by controling the Smash community, is turning it into a Dystopian society that will soon have no way of recovering
* Leffen is similar to Hitler, Stalin, Donald Trump and multiple anime villains
* Leffen directly tried to manipulate and spite Hax by wearing certain colored pants
* Blocking people on Twitter for bothering you should be illegal
* Blocking people on Twitter is a powerful tool of manipulation that makes people feel isolated and silenced
* Mobbing people on Twitter with tons of angry, critical comments is a good communication tool or at all constructive to conflict resolution, and not being able to do it is somehow psychological abuse
* Giving a subjective opinion that people should be allowed to add their own bindings to a custom controller was a secret plan to ruin it and destroy his whole business franchise
* The difference in preference between R and Z cancelling is worth fifty minutes of discussion and isn't actually a difference in opinion but an evil, psychologically manipulative lie to control people like zombies
* Having a bad experience on a personal discord where someone's sycophantic fans argue in their favor is at all a reasonable excuse to quit the entire Smash Brothers scene and that Leffen is somehow comparable to Donald Trump for also having idiot fans
* Grabbing your employee by the shoulders and shaking him violently while screaming in his face is at all a reasonable reaction to learning that he sent someone you don't like a product that they paid for
* Running up to a person and screaming at them in public is at all a valuable or constructive form of conflict resolution
* It is at all acceptable to chase a person and yell at them when they don't want to talk to you
* It is at all acceptable to hit someone in the face for moving their chair back too far on an airplane
* A director removing unflattering parts of a documentary to stop someone from complaining somehow turns their movie into evil propaganda
* A movie that sends a message you don't like should be made illegal
* Hax, in his words, "betraying" his own friends and violating their privacy, potentially making them targets for harassment, was all somehow a worthy sacrifice to stop Leffen and did anything productive or gave anyone information that was at all necessary.
* Leffen starting a tournament on a day close to Hax's tournament is evil and manipulative, but Hax actively and admittedly manipulating Leffen and others by advertising a fake tournament isn't
* The director who has remain neutral and polite with both parties is in any way the villain or at fault and should be labeled a propagandist
* The basic principle of Freedom of Speech should be secondary to preventing harm caused by controlling people. Or in other words, the only way to stop controlling tyrants is by acting controlling and tyranical.
* There was any information in the video that was important enough to warrant a two-hour video, or even a single hour, or anything beyond a few minutes

As you can see, for every good point Hax had, he made nearly a dozen bad ones. That's why this blew up in his face so badly, and that's why people are reactively taking Leffen's side.
Not going to address each one but he has a pretty good handle of social dynamics on Twitter and how they can make it easy to reward sycophantic behavior, even if he breaks it down like a fighting game moveset like a sperg. Then again, instead of talking about how social networks can create toxic cultures he of course decides that Leffen is Hitler Yagami for using the tools everyone on Twitter has. A good segment of the video I was kind of bothered that those points in particular probably wouldn't be taken seriously because Twitter mobs are a thing and everyone knows it.

But nah fam, Hax$ is just mad he has what he perceives as direct competition on Twitch and that his competitions aren't as popular.

This is one of the things that grinds my gears the most. Leffen is absolutely a 100% dickhead that has no business being the "respected FGC community figurehead" that he is who lets one of the most toxic followings I've seen dictate a lot of the conversation surrounding him by basically emulating all of his most vitriolic tendencies.

But the Melee community created this douchebag. They were so concerned with looking sick and tough for ages while being the underdog fighting against the Nintendo overlords that they didn't realize that they were providing the means to let the most toxic tendencies you can see in an FGC thrive. And it doesn't just stop at Melee either, that shit bleeds into newer games to this day.

Hype is more important than winning. Worship your Smash God and damn the rest. Your character is honest because everyone else's isn't. Get all the clout so you can yell at people because you're the "mostest rightest". Embrace every opportunity to look like the victim because dammit you have to be a victim of something. I could fucking go on.

This isn't me saying that other FGC's don't have drama, far from it, but usually these things that happen have confrontations IRL or are acknowledged by prominent tournament organizers who work their asses off to prevent these issues in the first place. But Smash? Nah, we fostered a scene where people cheered that a crab got tossed at a man for playing a video game.

A takedown of Leffen could have been the start of acknowledging a lot of deep-seated attitude problems the Smash fanbase has, but no, Hax fucked it up and all of that discussion is water under the bridge.

Goddammit.

Tbh tho why does it even matter? Regardless of whether Leffen is a swell guy or not, why does his following have anything to do with the price of tea? If you are involved with this shit and think he is a douche, why not just call him a douche and keep on with going about things your way? Its as simple as saying "I mean yeah Hax is a sperg but..."

Or is he going to steal your Adidas and write you in his Death Note if you do?

I feel like Yoshimitsu would of been a better choice IMO. Not only would his playstyles be unique and fitting for Smash but he would end up representing both Tekken & Soul Calibur.
I thought about this. His moveset is actually ideal for smash. Helicopter stance, flea stance, and indian stance would fit up B, down b and neutral b respectively. Could also make his critical edge from SC6 his final smash since it looks so fucking badass.

I can't wait until Leffen taunts someone who would kick his shit in.

+ The reactions to a sword-wielding fighting game character being added, it's a perfect choice.

The community loves to talk shit about things they don't know.

In all seriousness, this is a very important concept, especially when people are politicians or celebrities. Blocking people on social media allows people to shelter themselves from criticism and accountability.

Nobody anywhere else on earth is obligated to talk to you or be in your presence if they don't want to.

I was getting genuinely offended these apes never heard of Tekken, but then I remembered all I read from this thread. Keep them in their containment smell zones.
