I am kinda with him on that one, there's no expectation or pressure to flipping burguers or archiving files every day the same way on the same schedule, is different to have to train for thousands of hours to do something then and constantly be competing and under scrutiny and have that be a major part of your identity.

Isn't the term just 1st world problems? Leffen's been doing competitive gaming and streaming for a living for probably 1/2 of his life. Doing this probably is the hardest thing he's ever done.
 
Fun game to play with friends/family:

-Show them the title and the length time of Evidence.zip 2
-Ask them what they think the video is about
-See their reaction when you tell them it's about Super Smash Bros. (or if they're older, tell them it's about a Super Mario fighting game)

Just did that with a family member and they said they were thankful my autism wasn't nearly that bad.

This kind of shit is exactly the content I want. I have no idea what the fuck is going on and I've never even played SSBM, but I love serious content about non-serious shit especially when it's borderline schizo.
 
This whole thing feels like an IRL version of the scifi writer trope, "The Rembrandt Comic Book". Basically a huge amount of intellect and artistry is wasted to make a very trivial and unimportant point. This is the guy who made a 200 dollar controller to let people play a 20 year old video game without developing arthritis, so that makes sense.

my family grew up playing mario but to them it was an incomprehensible blur, like i asked them to find meaning in a random scribble.

yeah dude its fun af being yelled at and having to pretend you were the one in the wrong even if the guy was lying or has shit memory about something, its great, so much better than playing your favorite vidya all day and getting paid for it. still more dignity in fast food than being part of the pedo gamin pals but lets not pretend playing vidya is work, athletes have a much better claim since their games actually involve really strenuous and often dangerous shit.

I don't know, I've heard things like Skullgirls players shitting themselves mid-match so they don't have to interrupt them to go to the bathroom. I think it's more that Smash Bros has a much bigger casual and competitive scene, so the autism is much more noticeable. Pretty much every community is autistic to some degree if you're willing to dig deep enough.
