jokes aside, what I hate the most about the community is the simps that accept every bullshit sakurai adds to the game without questioning, and if you DARE questioning or saying you don't like the addition of character X, you get spammed with "hOeS mAd".

When Sakurai released a paid lucas DLC for sm4sh, even tho he was a free charater in brawl, everybody just started praising sakurai. That's a kind of dumb example, but still works if you consider that Sakurai made you pay for something that was once free.
Fast Forward, in 2019, sakurai released piranha plant as a SSBU DLC, and people started complaining about the plant, and simps started bragging on how the players "complained too much". In the same year, Hero was released, and people started complaining on how bs was his RNG. No, I don't agree with the ones that were trying to ban him, but IMO the people that were trying to make him look "not so bad" were worse. He had lots of one hit KO moves, one of them had more chance of happening than luigi's powerful version of its side b, also they all could bypass/break your shield. Not only this, but all the "hoes mad" thing, it wasn't funny at all. It was just annoying. This year, when byleth was released, people were complaining about the "wasted slot" that Byleth took. People were just tired of FE characters. The simps then started all that "hoes mad" thing again on everyone that would DARE complain about their demigod Sakurai's decision.

the hero shit annoys me. fuck that character and fuck the tards who think reading menus should just be apart of the game (which is also not necessarily true since many hero players just brainlessly pick the first option)

Hey I would 100% be okay with Ness having the Gutsy Bat as a smash and doing either 0 damage or instant killing people.

I do just because the character gets no love outside of the Memes, and is legit just a copy pasta to give Wario a partner on teams.

I like Luigi because he has always been sort of in the shadow of Mario and never got his own game for decades, and even then his series is sort of very far between and even in it he sort of gets treated like a loser.

If fucking Toad can get his own Game (not that I hate Captain Toad, it was a quaint little puzzle game that expanded on a nice concept in a mainline game) then Waluigi can get some time in the spotlight as well.

I don't know anything about the individual drama, but the "test stage location" refers to a test stage in the game files which uses a Japanese cafe near the developer's offices as a background. "Light powershield" is just a stupidly hard technique because the game's shield is pressure sensitive and power shield has a tight frame window, so you both need to gently and quickly shield an attack to do it. Lastly, "Melee wasn't a mistake" is a counter to people complaing how top Melee uses weird engine quirks constantly, as the game's manual explains how to L-cancel and Sakurai said they discovered wavedashing early in the devlopment.

Not really oldschool/informed, but I'll try a few:
-PPMD was a former #1 player in the world around 2014-2015 known for his technical prowess with Marth and Falco. Around 2016-2017 his results dropped off and he ended up "retiring" citing depression and issues with low energy/testosterone. He would occasionally stream or give updates on his progress and many assumed he would be back on the scene in force. However, it's now mid-2020 and he doesn't seem close to making a comeback, leading some to wonder if he has just lost his passion for the game or competing entirely (he's fine, but just doesn't want to come back, even though he does still stream and make update videos on occasion).

-n0ne is a Captain Falcon player known for his aggressive playstyle and ability to pull off insane combos. There's been some minor controversy over his age, which has never been proven iirc. A few years ago when I was still following the scene, he was claiming to be 19. Judging by his physical appearance though, most people would guess him to be older than that, like late 20s etc.

-Kings of Cali was a west coast tournament series that ended with the 4th installment. I don't know if there were plans for a 5th event or not, but eventually it became a meme that Kings of Cali 5 would occur sometime unreasonably far into the future. That it already would have happened as some secret underground tourney is just a variation on the meme.

Also what annoys me the most are players that rely on RNG. A good hero player is the one that doesn't care for what comes, because he knows how to use it. My problem with hero is how much the avarage player relies too much on RNG. And sometimes shits can happen that let hero op or up, which make him actually not a "mid tier". Also one thing that annoys me is the fact that the 1 hit ko smash attack has more chances of killing in 1 hit that luigi's special side b to happen.
