The Smash community is so fucking vile it made me side with an Arab over a countryman, let it burn.
To be fair, being in the Smash community basically makes you a nigger anyways, even if you were to have 100% white DNA. So it doesn’t matter that much.

Extremely holier then thou leftist faggots going power mad in their group of autist playing children's party games are indeed bad enough to make me side with a kike.

New Tech video proving without a doubt what a little bitch Leffen is, loved the Evo clip. Not one word out of that mutt's mouth in response and he looked like he was close to just running away from Technicals. Top stuff.

Tomorrow they're running a summit for formerly banned players.

If this post is true, then there's more money at it than in many other majors.

The idea of Melee players being so fucking dead in the water in terms of employment and keen on shooting themselves in both feet that the alternative scene has more money in it than the primary one is fucking hilarious to me on a level I have trouble articulating.

I hope alt Melee kills normal Melee, though I'd have liked there to be something scrubbed of politics, rather than answering the community's politics with the other side of the spectrum. Still, if that's the price that needs to be paid to stick it to these fucks, then I'll take what I can get.

I feel like the community as a whole needs a reset, if the alt community can appeal to the average Melee player in ways that the mainstream community fails to deliver on, the idea of this community gaining ground could be more likely than not (provided some tard wrangling measures are also taken)

I also feel like the ban crisis coupled alongside the one two punch of Hax’s death and Mango’s ban are definitely signs of the community approaching a paradigm shift in the future.

The only marketing an alternative community would have to do is "You like Smash? So do we!". That's it. The you find a cost effective venue, get a decent streaming set up and you're half way to making a successful event.

I feel like Manalord leans too heavy into the "the woke Smash community banned us, so here's a totally based and redpilled alternative like 2014 or something" shit, which I get, but taking the Gab approach isn't doing the alt community any favors in the long run

They need to stay away from that and focus solely on the game, players and audience. It might work for one or two events but if they want to look for sponsorship or the very difficult to get Nintendo seal of approval then the game is what's important.
Spectators and players will naturally gravitate to their events if they just run it like a normal tournament and keep their mouths shut about anything else.

Perhaps aligned with the timing of this, Lunar Melee (a channel that takes slippi files and outputs combo videos) put out a video yesterday which spotlighted banned players specifically.

I found this pretty surprising, to be honest, since I figured most significant figures in the community would, at worst, hold the line for fear of being unpersonned.

The comments are about what you'd expect.

It's a little thing, but I consider it really interesting that this person, regardless of their disposition, would take that gamble. I dunno if I can firmly say the line is moving, but between this and Mana Summit having a bigger prize pool than Riptide, I feel like it's at least likely that a lot of better players will have to at least see these things and pay them some good thought.

The Mana Summit pool thing is especially interesting because there's so little money in Melee that I could honestly see someone like Cody entering alt events, hoping for an easy prize pool, but saving face by saying he's gonna show those haters what real Melee is, or some shit, and basically signing the main scene's death warrant legitimizing the alt scene into existence.

Or maybe this is just me writing Melee community fanfiction.

I swear Melee fans are NPCs, not one original thought to be found in there. Every melee vid always has the same comments.

"That's what melee is all about".

"Melee is sick, man."

"This tournament is CRAZY."

New space animal main enters the scene - "OMG I'm so excited for the future of Melee."

I really hope the alt scene takes off, because it will be pure kino watching these people try and cope with it.

It's amazing to me that these people are looking forward to the same stagnant future of melee that has been the same for the past decade+. Unless this exciting future is the death of current competitive melee, what is there to be excited about?

Can't come soon enough really. These people are this upset that a bunch of clips with no music from banned players was posted. Madness.

In today's news, PPMD, one of the Five Gods of Melee, was found to be running a faith healing scam:

He also alluded to sending money to "where he learned this", suggesting that this is a cult/pyramid scheme:

PPMD, who has notoriously suffered with depression and other alleged health concerns, is the ideal kind of person to be taken in by a cult. He's likely to end up feeling Hax$-style depression soon, as this will almost certainly result in the Smash Community, his entire social circle, abandoning him.

This is similar to when Kira, formerly known for his SSBM Tutorials series, pivoted to making Christian Fundamentalist videos.

Melee seems to have quite a few more crazies per capita than most communities.

Total missed opportunity to put their "reason for ban" under where they put the pronouns on player cards.

With the Salt drama and supposedly pussying out of unbanning Mekk, I feel like things aren’t looking the best for Hungrybox, I feel like this could end up with another crab incident if things escalate any further.
