So I've been doing a little audiobook searching and found an inspiration for Thyxth splatterpunk inspiration. Roadside Picnic seems to meet all the criteria, but it's structured. There's a built-up first chapter, that is just bullshit like Thyxth has been publishing, followed by a second chapter that actually gets a little into what the underlying fear might come from. The third chapter was from the other side, and gave some context to the noir of the first two chapters, and was the title chapter. Fourth chapter closed the book, not great, but miles above Styx short splatterpunk rip-offs.

I think it's worth watching if you found entertainment in Roadside Picnic, as the Strugatsky brothers wrote the film adaptation of their own literature. Visually striking film for 1979. Interesting side note: The director, his wife, and one of the film's leads all died of the same cancer, allegedly from exposure to toxic areas while filming Stalker.

I didn't really enjoy roadside picnic, but the first chapter struck me as try hard, like Styx writing, the second chapter kept me involved, the third chapter made a little sense of the first two chapters, and the fourth chapter (almost) buttons up the story. I will check it out tho, when I have time to watch it with someone. These niche films are never any fun to watch alone.

Razorfist doesn't give a shit about him. Last time I saw them interact was when Razor did a guest appearance on Tarl's election stream in 2024. Zero chemistry between the two and it's quite obvious they only lean in on the online memes about the two of them ("WeRe the saME PersON huH Huh HuH") because of existing audience overlap. These two have nothing in common other than abusing women.
