Look, I'm all for Nikki continuing her latest arc as a sideshow freak to the Styx circus, I hope she posts in here every day but I just saw way too many people glazing her here and someone has to drop the reality nuke. I find it especially heinous that she was really trying to stay in touch with Mel, a mentally handicapped woman, and develop a fake, manipulative friendship to continue to get dirt on her bum ex. For that I can't feel anything but hate for her

What I find particularly distasteful about Styx on this subject is that he's never had a real job, all his income came from lucking into being a webcam microcelebrity for a brief moment in time (which has now passed). The proper thing for someone like him to do would be to act thankful that other people do the real work necessary to enable the society and culture that he exists in. But instead, he's delighting in AI taking the jobs of people who actually spent time to learn skills; in many cases (e.g. creative work) skills that nobody would have ever predicted machines would automate. He's lording automation over people who, unlike him, actually work hard. It's just more of his malignant narcissism and unwarranted ego.
...And all while declaring he's never going to grow up.
It's unfortunately a very common attitude for white collar people. Office work is a helluva drug. They believe they are above the people they rely on to LITERALLY build and maintain the world they live in. Styx thinks he's a high roller because he's made a couple mil on his edits, but a self employed tradesman pulls that down in the same period. Despite what people like Styx think, hard work and callouses are good for the soul, I've done more work for charity than Styx has done for himself, but his delusions of grandeur make for an entertaining fall from.. I was gonna say grace, but I don't think that's right.
I am of firm believe that absolutely everyone should have at least one year of customer-facing work. Landscaper, Food service, Retail. Whatever- just so you get to experience both the best and the worst of humanity and make the conscious decision on if you're going to be abusive to someone who is (possibly barely) doing their job, or accept it for what it is- a thankless job.

Very much agree. Right after high school, you have to spend a year doing some kind of service work. Hands on a farm, military, assembling widgets, retail grunt, something to give perspective and endear you to your homeland with some sweat and blood given to the soil and motivate outliers to participate in managing the whole show. Canada had something similar until they swung the doors wide open for post-national statism. 15 years ago I remember being in the greater Toronto area during a pretty significant snow storm and without missing a beat the entire suburb activated all of its high school age males to remove the two feet of new snow in trucks and bobcats and it was lovely to witness.
Nikki is no longer partaking of the Styx baby carrot, hence the heel turn against him.
I don't trust the true story these numbers suggest. No way in hell 490,000 people are active subscribers, 480,000 of them left long ago and never bothered to unsubscribe, they just lost interest, quit following that sphere of YouTube etc. The truth is probably MAYBE 10,000 of these so called subscribers are active subscribers, and when 1,000 of those people leave, it is a massive hit. That makes much more sense to me.
