Imagine you knew nothing about SA's culture or word filter. You'd think it was a website for diaper fetishists or something. Morbid curiosity gets the best of you, so you decide to join. And then you're greeted with screen asking you for your credit card info, because you have to pay to post there.

Word filter is only when you're not logged in, so advertisers won't drop them for naughty words. There are no word filters on the site otherwise.

Why have an automated word filter when you can make America's worst people work for free to ban triggering words like "Bruce Jenner" and "paycheck"
 
One of the many weird goon logic twists goes as follows:

a) The military are people who are paid to uphold the interests of the capital class, at the expense of the lives of others, and often those others are poor innocent brown people.
b) Except often people in the military have no real belief in what they're doing, they just need money.
c) Therefore the military is bad, but the people in the military are okay.
d) The police are people who are paid to uphold the interests of the capital class, at the expense of the lives of others, and often those others are poor innocent brown people.
e) Except often people in the police have no real belief in what they're doing, they just need money.
f) Therefore the police are fuckers, absolute scum. Fuck them. Fuck the police. Fuck around and find out. The world is a fuck, 410,757,864,530 dead cops etc etc etc.

Now, it would be simple and reductive of me to attribute this difference in attitudes to the average goon being a fucking degen who could never pass a piss test to become a cop...
 
So how do archives work i go to that date setting thing at the bottom of forums and enter a date and get no threads showing up.
 
There's something to the idea, which I've seen some discussion of over the past few months, that the military has higher standards for behavior than police forces, but I'm betting the goon hypocrisy here has nothing to do with that and everything to do with the fact that SA has had a military forum and not a cop forum for decades and the goon's first instinct is always to protect people in the inner posting circle.

Threads stopped going into the archives in May or June of 2014. Unless Jeffrey has finally fixed that, every thread posted in after that will still be on the live forums.

I think it's just their usual narcissism. They've probably actually been arrested by a cop for disgusting creepy goon behavior like acting retarded or perverted in public at some point so they're personally mad about it. Meanwhile they've never encountered an actual soldier in their basement or been registered as a sex offender by one.

Yeah I don't mean "murderer" in the biblical or legal sense. I mean literally "a person who ended another person's life". I don't think it's necessarily hyperbolic to extend that title to the pogs who are several degrees removed from the trigger pull in the context of pointing out the hypocrisy of a radar tech/AC Repair/sysadmin cog-in-the-murder-machine calling 👏yes, 👏all 👏 cops racist murderers by virtue of, what, refusing to quit their job when they have no first hand instances of observing this apparent genocide being conducted by law enforcement across the country?

Then they dismiss any given cop's report of having decades long careers without one instance of witnessing Klu Kluxery as nothing more than "anecdote". As if conveniently clipped cellphone videos uploaded by strangers and passed around the internet are any more valid.

Some infantry vets love to claim they had stricter ROEs on their combat patrols than American cops do on their beats. It's absolute nonsense.

You would, for example, be absolutely justified lighting up a dirt dick who decided to get punchy mid-detention. Of course, that almost never happened because folks in Iraq/Afghanistan lacked the zealous, self-righteous, delusional entitlement you see on display by American-made would-be-detainees just before they get dropped in a Wendy's parking lot.
