Thanks for the clarification. It is one of the two one-line posts I will always remember, along with this one:

Just thinking of it makes me smile.

Yes I generally leave this out because it doesn’t really matter and contributes to the attitude of “just legalise it man” that you mentioned and generally turns people off. But to get more into the nitty gritty, she had specifically mentioned all three of those options (rehab, ketamine, lsd) and some others that I didn’t mention like meditation, ayahuasca, etc. And rehab has like a single digit success rate that is lower than placebo on most drugs, so even taking a sugar pill might be useful if it works. But yes, there is some preliminary study that shows success, and today even more options are out there like glp-1 that are showing promise.

But regardless, the context of my post was basically “whatever you want to do, just do it.” Because she constantly would talk about all these theoretical methods and paths to sobriety but it was really just an excuse to procrastinate until the “perfect” magical method came up, which obviously never would. Keep in mind she was using an INSANE amount of heroin, like a gram of black tar a day. If she is still alive I would be shocked.

And yeah I don’t know how much I even believe that psychedelic therapy is even effective or makes scientific sense, but to me if it gets people off the bad shit even by way of placebo it’s a win. I know people who claim they developed an allergy to drugs, and that’s why they are sober. Well that’s ridiculous in my opinion, but it improves their life so why argue with them?
Was she the one that was last heard of living on the streets of SF and buying black tar heroin?
