I can. It's click bait and what they publish is determined entirely by what people are reading rather than what they think is good. MRAs here are implying there's an "editorial direction" to Cracked and similar sites outside of "publish things that make the most people click on them", and that's really not true.

I hope I don't come off sounding like I'm being overly literal (hurr dey publish to make moneys), but sites like Cracked literally have no other agenda. If Bronies Shooting Guns became a topic associated with the demographic they deliver to advertisers, they'd be all over it.

Eh. The Game of Thrones things are, at times, sort of legitimate. There was one, less insane, SJW type I was watching a video from, and the main thing she takes issue with is the sort of double standard that comes into play in terms of changing the races of characters from books to tv/film. The point she brought up that I am inclined to agree with is that when certain characters who are PoC in source material are turned white, the old "Best actor for the job" line is trotted out, but when white characters are turned black, White Supremacists are out in droves, screeching that it is an abomination (See - Thor)

However, I would respond that these are two distinct populations. It's not like the directors are in cahoots with Stormfront to arange this, yeah? I suspect the Directors would throw the same line at WS', best actor for the job.

As for Game of Thrones... To me there is a... Certian similar hypocricy. Although again, different populations at all.

To Game of Thrones, we say "Why can't there be PoC Westerosi?" "Because Westeros is Fantasy Medieval Europe." "Well its a fantasy universe! If you can have dragons and ice zombies, surely you can have PoC"

But I will say this, for the SJ crowd who haven't read the books, if they aren't happy with Arianne Martell (And I've heard rumors that they cut her, but she's a pretty fucking important character. They didn't announce the Greyjoy Brothers, either. Guess that means the entire fucking plot about the Dragon Horn and conquering the world is getting thrown out the window. But seriously, I'm sure they'll put her in. She's pretty damned vital to the story) I will be pretty shocked.

Equally, if they do cut her, I'll be pretty fucking pissed.

Because that seems to imply they'd be cutting Aegon VI, as well, what with her plot being so entwined with his.

Which in turn would seem to suggest that they are going to sacrifice a good 50% of the later books plot, in order to make more room for witty Tyrion, KHALESSSSIIIII and STANNIS DA MANNIS.

But again, I'm not going to get too riled up until we've got the full cast list. They didn't announce Ellaria Sand in the first round of S4 build up, and here we are today.

The last two books have been awful.

Perhaps. My question is just - What do they put in their place?

While I'm no fan of the Greyjoy Brothers, I haven't been terribly impressed with the elements that the show introduces that isn't as rooted in the story material, so I'd worry a bit if they were trying to rewrite the plot.

I feel like they'd just try to recycle what's worked in the past (Thus my snipe about Tyrion quips, Khalessi and Stannis) and we'd get something terribly redundant.
 
A think SJWs should really keep in mind is that these stories are their authors to write and build worlds around, not theirs'. If JRR Tolkien doesn't want to write about pock Westeros people, and if people who write Transformers fanfiction don't want to write about Transformers who use alien pronouns, guess what? They are free to do so, and they are allowed to do so without having to be guilted about it!

If you wanna write about transexual non-binary disabled otherkin pocks, go ahead! It's your story, write what you will! But don't attack people who don't wanna write what you want!

Pretty much. My frustration with almost all SJW complaints about media boils down to the fact that people can write about whatever they damn well please, for whatever audience they please. If someone only writes stories by for and about rich white cis men, HEY GUESS WHAT THAT'S THEIR RIGHT. No one's really morally obliged to be inclusive unless they're specifically representing themselves as inclusive.

At least the alien pronoun thing is 'sensible' under the idea that Transformers are aliens. It's not like demanding you non-capitalize Pokémon names because we don't write Dog all the time. [And yet other fandoms name races with capital words too...]
 
This is an Amazon review to a book I read some years ago called 'Living Dead Girl', about a teenager who has been held captive by a standard-issue scary pedo rapist since she was a child. It's actually pretty good, though very dark, obviously. This Proud Womyn didn't think so:

As a lesbian, a mother, and a vegetarian, I am always on the look for new pieces of literature authored by my fellow womyn. I acquired this from a friend of my life partner who works in a library, and started it eagerly, hoping for a fine piece of allegory about the continued abuse of femalekind by the patriarchy.

Instead I found a poorly written piece of sadistic trash that glorifies the power of men over females. The main character, Roy, is a typical violent male, but the author offers an "excuse" for his actions by positing a sadistic mother. Thus the story ultimately points to a womyn, the traditional protectors and nurturers of lfe, as the true villain.

The ending is truly disappointing. The girl should have been rescued by a group of armed militant feminists, who deal justice out to the (it sickens me to even type the following word) - man - responsible, and set her free to discover her potential as a womyn, a progressive, and a lesbian. But this did not happen; instead the finale glorified male power and descended into nihilism.

I am amazed that my fellow females have been so brainwashed as to laud this regrettable book. Perhaps they are among that sick class of womyn who yearn from male dominance. if so, then I have nothing but pity for them. May Goddess have mercy on their spirits.

She uses the term Womyn. We can conclude pretty easily that she is an idiot of Biting Beaver levels.

Incidentally, that sounds like something Biting Beaver would write.
