Now that's another angle to look at it. If you look back at her meme, she's implying that I was trying to discredit her own "experience" with my comment...but what "experience" would that be? I know next to nothing about her personal life experiences.

But the really funny thing is that if you look at that blog post, you can see the link to my original comment (reposted on my own Wordpress) on her Pingback. And so far she hasn't taken that out yet. Someone slapped egg on her own face...

The way I see it, she's trying to say that she has more experience about the subject matter, thus your opinion is invalid and you're making an ass of yourself.

Could be worse. Kojima originally wanted the members of the Beauty and the Beast squad from MGS4 to be nude when they weren't in their power suits to represent their dehumanization. The only reason that didn't happen was Konami didn't want an AO rating.

I haven't played Phantom Pain but I have tried to look into Quiet. Looking at some things like "It’s just fantasy/scifi! Magic/science protects her!" in their post, Metal Gear is a series that pretty much uses technology. One of the characters in the game, Ocelot, turned out to actually be himself with no trace of Liquid since the latter was actually induced by hypnotherapy. Quiet would no doubt have some use of a primitive nanomachine in her though one can say magic may have some influence in this since one of the characters in the series, the Sorrow, is a freaking ghost. As for "Her strength comes from her uncovered skin…", I'm sure the reasons why she'd have a bikini on is at least for the purpose of avoiding an AO rating. Not only that, it may as well be enough for her to wear without compromising her breathing. Really though in the end of it all, Metal Gear isn't a series that isn't logical when you play it, at least not until you try to piece everything together that it can make sense, especially if you don't skip cutscenes. Also gotta like the comments. One asked why the End isn't naked. Probably because the old man is more natural than Quiet in that he doesn't need some parasite or nanomachines, just the help of nature and he only gets the ability of camoflague, no special jumps or anything.

tl;dr: Metal Gear is a series that can be a sort of a mind-fuck. Not everything makes sense at first and even then, this is a prequel. I'm sure the parasites might in a way be like nanomachines (parasite: Speak English and you die. nanomachine: Saying patriot ends up being "La Li Lu Le Lo".)

In regards to power fantasy, bare-chested Liquid in sub zero weather is a poor excuse of power fantasy compared to cyborg ninja Raiden defeating a metal gear Ray using nothing but a katana. Then again, they'd say that Liquid is power fantasy compared to Quiet who honestly is less mundane than a clone of Big Boss due to her abilities coming from something they think is BS, nevermind that Metal Gear isn't the most logical series when considering some things.

Also, regarding that "male gaze" shite--of all the games to complain about, they pick Dragon Age? If I booted up DA:I right now, the most revealing outfit I could find for my Inquisitor (a freaking female elvish mage, the least-armored choice in the game) would be a beige tunic-and-trousers ensemble which, gasp, shows off her figure a bit. Vivienne, the mage with some rather impressively plungey bodices, is a Strong Woman of Color who owns her sexuality and is a magnificent badass. Dragon Age loves its equality and representative messages. Barking up the wrong tree there, mates.
