Why does Tumblr have an obsession with vitiligo?

  • Suicide Girl model and America's Next Top Model contestant have it, spread on Tumblr, that's why.

While this character gets a pass, this poster has an eye-rolling response: "Ya, she’s still wearing a vacuum-sealed, skin-tight dress. So, not exactly all that ground-breaking. The design still has issues." (I don't think it's that tight myself. I'd go with form-fitting.)
Issues because it's skin-tight and vacuum-sealed? Wouldn't that only be possible if we actually saw more than just a boob curve that showed the robe itself was skin-tight? It's a robe, those things from what I hear aren't made of nylon or whatever. Even then, she looks like a spell-casting sort, which her name can imply. That means armor isn't really needed when she has spells to turn people into frogs or throw cinder-inducing fireballs.

I know they've argued again and again about context and character not mattering when the character's fictional and thus can't make her own choices, and I should just roll my eyes at this point, but...
Something about them crapping on the awesome villainess of one of the best games I've played in years kind of pisses me off.

I think they're getting worse. It used to be just big boobs, silly poses and overly skimpy outfits. But not it seems that long hair, any definition of breasts and anything that shows curves is also bad. Heck, a number of them don't even like capes on superheroes.

Seriously??? That dress looks no less revealing/form-fitting than a swimsuit cover-up.

It's official, no outfit is safe from these people anymore; regardless of how much more it "covers" by editing or redesigning it.

Like Real Women wear tight clothes.

At this point, I think you can design a character dressed in a Burqa and people will still call her outfit "problematic"

If she's being oppressed by Islam, then yeah. But then they'd get shit for criticizing a WOC character.

They shit on anything attractive and feminine which in theory is anti-feminist but because men like it, big boobs and curves are evil.

Also they seem to be implying that breasts are something unnatural and shameful that should be hidden. A position not unlike that of certain religious fundamentalists.

It's almost like the stereotype of SJWs as hideous landwhales who make Andrea Dworkin look like a fashion model are entirely accurate.

Tumblr really likes making people way chubbier, even in series where everyone is supposed to be fit as hell

At this point, they may as well just boycott Marvel, DC and all other comic publishers and tell them to just shut down. That's about the only way anyone will learn (according to their fat-encrusted minds, at least).

This is supposed to be Jewelry Bonney from One Piece.

One Piece has one of those fandoms that has skin colour headcanons and recolours official artwork to suit them. A lot of them pride themselves with sucking the blatant femininity from the more voluptuous women of the series and replacing it with flab or muscle, because female pirates, officers and fighters can't be strong and have good figures at the same time.

They also like to give Trafalgar Law vitiligo.

Holy shit, Law looks like a burn victim.

Well we can't even have women be fat or muscular, they need noticeable stubble!

That's because it's never been about having larger, broader, or less attractive women it's always been about "I need to make everything uglier than me! I'm not insecure just seeing these drawn pictures make me feel bad!".

At the heart of social justice are insecure women who were never told to shut up and get some perceptive of whats real and whats not that's why they're so hung up on how media will make people act they have trouble separating fantasy and reality. Social justice is a ideological theater with state of the art projectors if you want to know how they really think or feel about something look at what they shout at others.

It's kinda funny that they seem to construe "looking remotely female" as proof that designers hate women or something. Seriously, what about that design says 'female' at all? It actually looks more like an offensive anime caricature of a gay man or trans woman. One of the character designs in one of tumblr's favourite shows ironically manages to have a character who's built like a brick shithouse, growly all the time and got quite the jawline... but there's still some features that would actually imply female.

And that's the thing with character design, people should often get some idea of what a character is like just by looking at their designs. A lot of official art for characters even show off a bit of their personality. When your design fails to even convey something as simple as gender on a character with a gender (a binary one no less) then you've failed as a character designer.
