All I have to say about this report on gender and representation in the 5th edition Dungeons & Dragons corebooks is daammmmn. This is some autistic levels of obsession over the topic and the fact the author comes off as a cunt doesn't help. I can understand there not being a lot of humanoid characters in the Monster manuals because it's about the (ambiguous gendered monsters you fight.)

Here's some choice lines from it...

In both the DMG and PHB, only approximately a third of all multi-character illustrations did not contain women. Which, let me just say is still an atrocious total. If women are 1/2 of the population, it’s pretty terrible when 30% of your environment shots don’t actually reflect that – especially since I wasn’t actually counting the gender balance in each group shot. I was just counting if a group shot contained women.

In real life, there's times where there will be more of one gender in a social group or activity. And to go to extremes that every group should have a perfectly equal amount no matter what seems like a hassle. (And what about groups with an odd number in them?)

In fantasy and gaming artwork, it’s still an unfortunately common stereotype to see men depicted overwhelmingly as fighters and women overwhelmingly depicted as mages. Because of course it is the job of the big strong mans to hit things with swords while the women stand safely in the back and twiddle their fingers. [sigh]

I think you’re underestimating the power of magic users. They don’t just “twiddle their thumbs”, they can be very destructive, helpful and useful in their own ways. Just because they’re not in the front line, doesn’t make them useless and weak.

Looking at the gender ratios for both fully-covered (characters shown as being covered from neck to ankle and shoulder to wrist) and suggestively attired (characters with either portions of exposed torso or exposed portions of upper thigh) characters, the numbers collected make it appear as though depictions are pretty evenly balanced across all three books. However in all of the PHB, there were only 6 illustrations that I outright rolled my eyes of, whereas I just plain wanted to chuck half of the monster manual in the garbage for how bullshit it’s treatment of women is.
This woman must be the biggest cunt in the world to have in a gaming session. (I know she's a table top gamer.) Also, check out her long article on Smite where she even bitches that there are too many good and neutral goddesses.

At this point is it safe to say that SJWs would find reasons to hate a character who's an obese brown womyn of color?

Aren't mages really the power in a game of D&D, like to the point where they can destroy the game? Oh no! We need more pictures in the book about using your imagination, and making your own stories and characters, to have big dumb strong women in them. How else will people know that it is possible to have female fighters?

Yeah don't use the gods in the pantheons you're already exploring. Get new ones that adhere to morality scales, as gods are known to do. Of course the morality of the gods is important in this game, I mean just because the gods have no use other than fighting and there are no moral choices doesn't mean it isn't important.

There may be provided there is something for them to harp about such as perhaps not being dark enough or her clothing/armor is impractical because it's "sexy armor" or something along these lines.

Whats with tumblrs obsession with giving people vitiligo

Edit: I just noticed they didn't even bother coloring the thumb on the right hand

Is vitiligo the new red nose?

Man, she takes DnD more seriously than the players.

If she's too conventionally pretty could be something.

Where did the SJW art obsession of making all females into frontline brutes came from anyways? Do they dislike female characters performing backline or sideline roles such as being merchants, clerics, rogues, archers, or mages?

They see those roles as passive, which is always sexist to them. They have their importance, but they're not "empowering"

Call me crazy, but that gives me the impression that these SJWs have never actually had a job (not counting raking in Patreon bucks).

This sure reminds me of the "stay in the kitchen" mentality, but in reverse. Any female that's portrayed in the "traditional" gender roles are seen as weak/stupid/sexist regardless of their characterization.

I also noticed that there's this major push that all male and female variations of an outfit must pretty much look exactly alike. No outfit alterations for either gender, no cinching the waist or anything accommodate a different body or aesthetic changes.
Well then in that case, armors like the fur armor in skyrim would have the girls completely topless, which is even worse to them.

Imagine if female barbarians in fiction dressed exactly like the male ones: a pair of boots and a tiny ass loincloth.

Edit: Why are people pissed at Mika's outfit again? It's not like all female SF characters are that modestly dressed.
