Cukurcuka's guide was very inspiring, but since most of the aspiring artists are hacks devoid of any skill, I've lowered the bar a bit and created the PEN FEEL method for aspiring SJW artists. It starts from the very basics and uses every day objects and shapes to come up with original characters you can then use as a handy reference. Or just trace, if your name happens to be Andrew Dobson.

P is for Pear round and green, for that should be the body shape of a healthy teen.
E is for Elephant whose legs we shall steal, our character will have no need to kneel.
N is for arms of Noodle for they are the easiest to doodle.

F is for Football leathery and rough, for head it is good enough.
E is for Equilateral triangle 'cos that is our nose, geometry class is full of those.
E is for Eyes stolen from any cartoon show, there is no saving this shit now!
L is for Lazy that is you, the monstrosity you created belongs in a zoo!

Frankly, I don't even know how to lump all those horrible noses together as just about any shape is represented and only common factor was the reddish color. I suppose the rule should be "for the nose, anything goes". As long as it sticks out like SS-officer in bar mitzvah, it is a nose to these people.

What would they whitewash? Most of the cast is either fantasy French, English, or visably not fucking human with the exception of the shoehorned transman and Vivienne.
Sorry for sperging. I'm not confusing Dragon Age Inquisition with something else am I?

The mage from Orlais/French. Forgot her name. She has a dark skin and "black" facial features. I think I have the edited picture in my pc. Maybe I'll post it tonight or something if I still have it.

Redesign could use some color or more detail since the arms could come off as uncovered in the second drawing. Even then, the zero suit is worn beneath the power suit which means if Samus wanted to do bounty hunting, she could just use the iconic suit of power armor. Only reason zero suit gets recognition in terms of combat was Smash Bros. And the gun she has, outside of Smash Bros., it's more of a stun gun considering Zero Mission. Really, one may as well ask: what is impractical about the zero suit outside of things like "high heels from Smash Bros." and boob lines?

It doesn't really matter what you imagine Samus looking like, considering she canonically looks like this:

I know what you mean. Other than the redo makes her look flat, how different is it from the first?
 
It's... easier to move around in the redesigned outfit. I... think? Even though real athletes wore skintight outfits too

It doesn't just make her look fat -- Narrowed hips, wide shoulders, what reads as a muscular chest -- That's a man's body.
