Quite surprisingly, the fandom isn't entirely to blame for yet another trans lesbian couple, but what else do we expect once publishing houses started hiring literal fanfiction writers?

I will never get why people create gijinkas that have absolutely no relevance to the original designs.

Maybe this is just me not being a fan of gijinka in general, but why would you take cool robot designs and make them generic humans? Sure, the designs are fairly complicated and more difficult to draw, but I'd take an amateurish fanart containing the original designs over whatever this is.

This art is good. Like, really good. If this was 100% original OCs they would work. Hell, the setting of AoT lends to that considering the remnants of humanity show people from all races banding together against the titans. If they wanted to make an AU that's the way to go.

But instead...they redesign everyone for no reason? Why does Mikasa Ackerman have to be black? How does this make them unique? What does this contribute to their character? Even if they wanted to go the racism route, the show does a decent job saying how it doesn't matter because the only people who survive are the ones that fight to survive.

The thing about designing characters is that...any person, even a minority will think about their themes and settings and how that plays into the show. For example, shows like the Proud Family, Static Shock, even Craig of the Creek have some of this influence from African American cultures. How does changing Mikasa, a japanese girl who was nearly sold into slavery because she was one of the few of her kind left, make a reasonable substitute for" oh, black person"?

They had it handed to them on a silver platter to make something 100% reasonable and unless I get some more context I'm just confused.

Okay, I'm gonna assume you only watched a couple of seasons of the anime and don't actually keep up with the canon of AoT, but you're wrong.
First, no, it's not multicultural, it's just one race of people called Eldians, who are heavily based off Germans and Jews.

They're not the last of humanity, they're an island of people who were brainwashed into believing they were by the original king who used the power of one of the original titans to literally wipe their memories and impose his own ideology of pacifism and segregation onto them, they killed off anyone who wasn't Eldian because people who aren't Eldian can't get their minds wiped. The only reason any asians (who are based off the Japanese) were left inside the walls is because they were originally on good terms with the Eldians and some of them decided to stay even when the king imposed the segregation and got wiped out cause they couldn't lose their memories and were executed. Outside the walls, humanity is in their universe's WWII and the Eldians that didn't go with the king to the island are their universe's equivalent of jews, they're second class citizens to another country (Marley, who are heavily Nazi German based). The Eldians are forced into camps, and made to wear star patches on their clothes to show that they're descents of the "devils" and segregated for it, and are used as foot soliders in the war on other countries if they're not being used for their titan powers. The reason why there's titans on the island in the first place is cause Marleyans use serum that only activate with Elidans, so they bring them to the island, and turn them into the mindless titans. Instead of killing them off in concentration camps, they turn them into their titan forms and make them eat their own people. Mikasa is also only half asian, she's half Ackerman, who are (still) Eldians, but were experimented on. They're basically super soldiers with the power of titans infused into them and can access combat memory from past Ackermans. They couldn't be mind wiped either and it caused them to be nearly eradicated as well. There is no multiculturalism on that island, it's the complete opposite.

Their art skills are decent, but they're not something I would call really good, but that depends on what standard you're coming from, it looks like basic student quality fanart to me.

It's kind of an easy mistake to make given how shitty this art is, but Terezi's blood is teal while Nepeta's is green, and Nepeta's horns are broader. Also their hair is different and Nepeta has cat lips. Again, the shitty art makes it an easy mistake. /autism

i've never even read homestuck but also terezi has no eyes, yeah? seems like a hard thing to miss.
