Why does Tumblr have an obsession with vitiligo?

A particular pet peeve of mine is depictions of characters with vitiligo who just have random splotches of light all over their body. Vitiligo is an autoimmune disorder that works in a very specific way, targeting areas like the mouth, nose, eyes, elbows/knees, and genitals of those affected by it. There are TWO types of vitiligo. Non-segmental and segmental. Non-segmental is the most common and is VERY SYMMETRICAL. Segmental is just ONE splotch. It is not symmetrical because there is only one.

SJWs like to incorporate people with vitiligo into their art because a) they think that all people with vitiligo are black, which isn't true, and b) ~diversity~. They do it poorly, they misrepresent a group of people while creating "representation", and it's just plain ugly.

Even without the blackwashing the coloring in this is a fucking mess. I can't make out their faces amidst all the "effects" she puts into the coloring/lighting.

They are so ridiculously black that I can barely see their faces, I have to raise the brightness and even then I can not see anything more than their teeth and eyes. (respect the lord of the rings, everything i love is dead )

It's because they don't actually know what black people look like.

I've never read the books and I watched the movies an incredibly long time ago, so I'm curious as to if this is racebending in reference to only the books if any of these characters weren't described as having pale skin or any characteristic Caucasian features. Lord of the Rings is hailed one of the most important works of medieval European fantasy so I'm guessing no, but still curious.

Honestly I like the art style, but yeah. Every gender-nonconforming person has that haircut, which just looks like if someone took the "fascist" haircut and gave it a perm. It ain't punk. Punk is shaving your head completely or having those 6-inch spikes. Actually having hair that looks threatening or ugly on the person wearing it by that society's standards. That shit ain't punk, that's suburban femboi. GTFO with that weak shit.

When asked about it, the creator specified that Dipper and Mabel aren't religious (though Mabel insists they celebrate all holidays). So they're only ethnically Jewish.
