As for the one on the left, it would be less cringey if the people on that side didn't rail against those that didn't think like them (and even the apolitical) even to the point of physical violence and property damage, treat certain people as the main cause of all their problems and make excuses for certain people just because of their religion or skin color.

Those were the years where the civil rights movement was kicking out strong. They could of made use of a better setting but being shallow is something to remember since for all we know, they may just make use of tie-dye and not bother trying to put in legit struggles a movement would face.
