'ugly' art styles are a thing and to work they need to feel natural, like if that's just the way the artist draws by instinct. Beavis and Butthead or Ed,Edd and Eddy are good examples of that. It's very easy to fall into the huge mistake of forcing ugliness though

One thing that helps with feeling natural is if the artist could draw a recognizable face.

Actually, funny you bring it up.

I've had a few conversations recently with people who know their shit armor-wise. You know the ongoing meme BBAD likes to parrot regarding "boobplate applies force to the sternum?" Yeah, that's a load of horse puckey. Ignoring that any armor worth its salt will have under-armor padding to protect the wearer, as well as an ablative layer to dissipate impact, breastplates as a whole are designed, as most armor from the time is, to defeat slashing and bludgeoning weapons, which were the norm on every medieval battlefield. As such, the breastplate itself tends to layer the heaviest plating across the chest. The way these armors are designed further disgraces BBAD's talking points because not only would the underarmor layer dissipate the impact from a fall, but the very obvious comes up where if a soldier is lying face-down in the heat of mortal combat, she kind of has bigger concerns than boobplate, like the asshole trying to shove a sword through a shoulder gap, knee joint, or arm joint.

The biggest killer of the middle ages was shitty medieval medicine.

Honestly, just make the boobs a single curve/bulge in the armor instead of sculpting them out separately and you have

1. Solved the supposed sternum damage
2. Still left room in your armor for tits
3. Avoided a spear trap in the middle of your chest where blows would naturally deflect into and then get caught in the valley between the tit bulges, letting someone with a spear easily push you or puncture your armor there.

Boobplate is pretty dumb when you think about it, for the same reason armor sculpted to look like muscles on men are dumb. It's unnecessary and adds complexity and valleys into your armor which are point-traps for spears and other poky bits, which you never want.

The point I was getting at with that shit is that it isn't anywhere near as dangrous as captain stupid was making it out to be.
