Its really just colorism. Most of the "racism" isn't even really racism I say, but really people complaining about either seeing too many or too little dark skinned characters these days. That is a possible explanation for all of those blackwashing edits we see sometimes.

That's a generous view, and probably how it started. Some desire to make diversity seem more organic than teams like the Burger King's Kid Club's members.

These days though, it's all about the desire to be different, and blackwashing, throwing self-harm scars, a binder, etc is an easy way to 'stand out' and virtue-signal at the same time.

Magnus Archives is a horror podcast/arg/rpg that follows the new archivist for the Magnus Institute that investigates the paranormal.

This is honestly why I don't understand how these people think changing the race of an existing white character black will somehow end racism and will make people less racist.
