Why does Tumblr have an obsession with vitiligo?

  • Suicide Girl model and America's Next Top Model contestant have it, spread on Tumblr, that's why.

Oh, I recognize this artist. Everything she does is extremely pastel and kinda eye burny.... I have to admit she's a pretty damn good animator. But when her Miku looks kinda sickly and wonky:

Yeah, she definitely belongs in this thread.

She calls that pastel? Those colors aren't pastel, they're just really saturated colors that are darkened whereas pastels are desaturated colors that are lightened. Descriptively, it's the opposite. No pastel color (even if it is ugly) will be eye burning. Though this is a common mistake. People will tag their shit as pastel when it's just ashy eye burning mismatched shit.

Okay art sperging over.

I don't know which SJW art trend I hate more - the melting and deformed pseudo-anime eyes, or the searing color schemes.

The worst, part, these are by the SAME ARTIST. Holy inconsistent styles, Batman.

No.
I don't think this one is too bad. Even with the stretch marks.

No.
Why is she posed so stiffly? Imagine sitting with your arm and your shoulders like that.

My only real issue with this is that it feels too noisy. The design isn't bad it's just it has a lot going onto it and with the background being the same, it can be hard to focus your attention to the mermaid.

I know what's on her shoulders are supposed to be freckles, but it looks like a godawful rash.
It's stage 1 tumblr-itis. Next, her nose and lips will swell and her skin will become ambiguously brown. 70% chance for vitiligo. Then her eyes will melt. Not a pretty sight.

It's been a while since we've gotten another superhero outfit redesign and today's comes from BBAD. This is the artist's attempt at doing a 1940s version of Stargirl (PB is being a bitch so you'll have to follow the link). While it doesn't look too bad, it commits the sin a lot of feminist superhero re-designers run into: it's bland. Even the Golden Age heroines who didn't wear skirts/dresses had form-fitting pants or shorts.

They couldn't just try to make copy of Superman. Instead, the outfit looks like something anyone could put together from their parent's closet. What they could of done in making a redesign was maybe copy something similar to Rosie the Riveter perhaps.

Replacing those pants with a knee-length skit with a white boarder at the hem would look a lot more fun and closer to the 40s style. It also wouldn't hurt to make the sleeves puffed to add a feminine look to it.
