Well, the artist is specifically trying not to break the canon fact that they're sextuplets, and instead focusing on traits they could realistically have (i.e. tans, muscles or lack thereof), so score one for sanity. On the other hand, this still breaks a few jokes in the show about how they're easily mistaken for one another.

Dunno, it's not like say, Ichimatsu tends to overeat or anything (the fandom always puts him as the fat one and I have no idea why) as for the others...Dunno, those tans are really up to "racebending to generic POC brown" that these kids love so much doesn't matter if the sextuplets are Asian, they're still too damn white for their liking...Asian is no true "diversity" to these kids

I don't know if this counts as racebending but in anime, they usually portray sporty or masculine characters to be more tan. That's why male characters are always a generic tan while female characters are porcelain white. If I recall, it has something to do with old Japanese culture where having a tan meant you were hardworking and strong (from working outside in fields) while being pale meant you were rich and pampered enough to not have to work outside. Tan female characters usually meant they were tomboys or more masculine, while pale male characters were either feminine, shut-ins, or rich kids.

That's probably why they draw Ichi as pale but Jyushi as tan.

The problem though is that, in this show, they are meant to all be identical, so trying to make them all look different completely disregards the point the show even tries to make about their appearances.

Remember kids, the more the design covers, the better. This new outfit is nice, but for some reason the helmet bugs me. Maybe it's the weird shape or the fact that the thin slits would hinder how much she can see.

As far as armor goes in either of these, the helmet's slit really does hinder this character. The slit would hinder the wearer's field of vision. Plus if that helmet does have a flat top, that wouldn't do well in protection unless it was a curved top or had a crest. Flat top helmets are more likely to lead to injury than non-flat top helmets.

For as much as the people running blogs like BABD complain about "unrealistic armor," they really know jack shit about what'll actually hurt you in a fight.

As far as protective looking armor goes, they should at least look up how full covering armor can be also be hindering, especially in aspects of the helmet. Had they used a frog-mouth helmet, it could give perspective in how much knowledge they could lack by how impractical the helmet is. If they wanted to make it be less flawless as possible, do something about the helmet and its slit.

Not to mention that the armor doesn't make sense for it to be for a character in an action anime. Characters are always running around, jumping, and moving quickly to make the shows more exciting. It looks like I'll be hard to do all that in that armor. So, in a sense, that make the original one is more practical.

Not only that, there can be a lot of things in anime that defy logic, whether its a magic raccoon with large balls or some katana breaking a broadsword without the katana itself chipping or breaking. That said, I kinda with the previous edit if the artist sperged in any way related to "practicality" and "armor" while thinking there was nothing wrong with their edit. Nothing wrong with making your own (possibly autistic) edits but doing it because you think the original creator should do your way is autistic in of itself.

:powerlevel: I believe that sword was magically enchanted. /:powerlevel:

Even if one brings in magic as justification, there can still be spergs that try to argue despite the primary fact that it is all fiction.

We're all ignoring the fact that it just looks fucking stupid
That's one other thing about these armor edits, they do look stupid, especially if the edit involved the use of photoshop or MSPaint because the edit artist felt autistic over a some drawing.

That, too. What's with the things on the side of the head? It looks clownish.
Maybe it's holes for her hair. Then again, it may just be plumes which in all honesty, aren't doing much in appeal.

How would you be able to tell if someone is making racebent fanart for fun or out of SJW obligation?

Kinda hard at this point, but usually if the character looks ugly as fuck (bc only white ppl are beautiful in SJWs' mind) that's a surefire SJW redesign.

And if they add too many marginal labels and traits (virtillo, fatties, hairy legs, etc).

They basically just stuffed her into a metal burkha.

Because pee-oh-sees are all disgusting, fat and have multiple disfiguring diseases.

How progressive.
