Example: if you're a trans woman and you only date men, you're heterosexual because you're a woman exclusively into men. It's not fucking rocket science; being attracted only to a gender you are not makes you heterosexual.

and y'know, a lot of good (keyword: good) artists can block out shapes and make something great with it. but that's after like...y'know, understanding proper anatomy and doing the basics such as fucking guidelines for your drawings. i'm gonna admit i like the expressive face of the second picture, and the pose could be so much better if she did what she said she was against.

I love it when artists who clearly don't know better and are trying to cover up their mistakes try to have their "hot take" on concepts that have existed for thousands of years.

Every artist has their way of drawing. Yes, but construction lines aren't just "circles and sticks". They can be a loose sketch, some thumbnails, or even referencing an image. There are many different types of lines and they help you with the flow of a piece. Hell, in art school, one of the first things that you learn is how to draw a line and how to follow the flow of a figure or object. These concepts exist because they fucking work.

If this artist doesn't want to use construction lines, fine, but having this "hot take" and lying to people about her habits is another thing. Just admit you don't like doing lineart because you haven't learned how to do it properly. You want to know why that's the case with many artists? It's because they typically do it wrong. Instead of making a variation of thick and thinner lines, they're more obsessed with containing the original image. That's why when people say they hate lineart, they have a skeleton of an image. They aren't keeping the interesting variations of thickness/thinness or contrasts of lines.

As mentioned by @Bani you can make blotches of colors look good and in the image above, I admit I like the color choices better, but acting like this is the pinnacle of beating around the bush in the art world is ridiculous. You need to learn the basics and the more these younger artists scrap them because it's "too hard" the worse they'll have it when they apply for art school and get rejected because they can't render an apple. At least the artist tried in the before image to have some sort of lineart, now they just didn't do it because they don't want to.

As you can see from my shoddy red-line, she's got a bit of Macro and Microcephaly going on. Her fingers and arms on the 2nd one are boneless, allowing them to make positions that no healthy human should be able to. Her left leg in 2nd is elongated for the purpose of her pose, along with the torso.

In both she also has a case of saggy tits, and fairly low noses. The eyes on the first are small, making the skull appear larger.

This is all why you do construction lines before drawing. Children, young artists and some professionals do not use them due to lack of understanding/being skilled enough to not need them. Artists who do not fall in any of those areas should use them to avoid the drawing having a deformed creature as its subject, a la This Piece.

Their art is pretty good for a seventeen year old. Unless there's more to it it sounds like they're joking about how hard it is to draw construction lines/drawing the line art and realizing you completely deviated from the sketch under it.

Honestly, if the artist doesn't want to take criticism, fine. But don't troll them. It's not worth the effort.

Agreed. I don't know how long this artist has been drawing. Maybe they've been doing it for a year or so. Everyone starts at a different place and they can get better if they put in the hard work. But as mentioned above, this is not art student acceptable work. If they're planning on doing this seriously the need to up the ante or take some additional art classes.

If this is for a hobby, then you can pretty much do whatever you want, but my question is this is the best you can do? You should always strive for something better. Having those constructions lines made the anatomy in the before image look more stable than on the after image.

In all honesty, it's not terrible art? They're both drawn pretty decent, and the artists openly admit that this is an alternate version of the show. They don't try (least to my knowledge) to cover it up as being directed for the 'woke points'.

Tags on the second one could be gone altogether though.
