@Stress Sigh I think that's what I was close to realizing, but didn't at first. This, all of the SJWist movement, is just self righteousness looking for a cause, so they can fight it and get all the feel-good of making the world better by virtue of being on the winning side that's already been vindicated. A lot of the big, popular causes like women's rights or racial equality have already been fought and won (or at least won important, major concessions, I know there's still racial bigots and misogynists, but they can't
legally beat their wives or kick blacks out of their stores for being black anymore ) and I think you're right, a lot of these folks are just butthurt they missed their chance to remembered as fighting the good fight.
So they have to find new racial and sexual injustices to fight. (and it's only ever those, the "popular" progressive ones that history has judged you righteous if you fought. There's still plenty of poverty out there, but that's HARD to fight, and, well, as you said, trust fund kids aren't wont to eat their own kind)
And it's not just sticking to the "hip" injustices, they frequently pick ones that aren't even that, and try and TURN them into injustices. Making mountains out of molehills, which is where we get them arguing that transphobia is the new injustice, and by "transphobia" they mean writers don't put trans people into their works, or there being binary bathrooms in most places.... And it's not just bandwagon equality, it's LAZY bandwagon equality. When your contribution to the "movement" is bad fan fiction with trans characters, that doesn't make you some kind of hero. You want to be the equal of Rosa Parks, but don't want to actually get your hands dirty and put yourself at any kind of risk. You talk a good talk, but for all your indignation over the system, you'll never put your delicate fingers into the gears and try and stop it, will you? Of course not, that would ruin your nails. You're trying to piggyback by showing how concerned you are and how much wrong you've found with the world, but never actually do anything except decry everyone else. And the rest of us are not mini-KKK members for calling you out as such when we all can see it.
