I'm not sure, but I've noticed they're really popular with zoomers as baby names. I googled it and got this article. The popularity of the name Ethel specifically may be due to that troon singer, but in general, I think troons are trying to give themselves names that sound special and unique. So they're looking online for ideas and getting all of these old person names that are trendy with the younger generations. It's the main character syndrome. When they troon out, they're essentially making a Mary Sue OC, so of course their womansona needs a super speshul name to represent how awesome "she" is.

Can't prove it's not e.g. some other shit-stirrer creating this account and imitating his style of course, but he is phenomenally dumb and childish so that was probably him.
