Disney didn't want to do an entire theme park. They just wanted to do a ride, a imaginary beast petting zoo, and a fast food restaurant named Leaky Cauldron. That was one of the reasons Disney and JKR fell out. She wanted something that was immersive and replicated the environment described in the books. And she wanted a real restaurant.
I wonder if they would have shut down the rides, if that's all they had.

I did just that for my niece for her birthday lol
I got her the first Harry Potter book for christmas, and my step bro told me the other day that she's crazy about the series now. So I got her a scarf and a robe for her 9th birthday, and I've been told she just wants to wear it all the time now. Hopefully this will stay, and hopefully it'll be a nice troon deterrent since they all live in a very liberal leaning college town
