2 things:

1.) Even if the allegations are false, Gearbox saying they'd love to have him back as Claptrap and that it's his fault not only screams of the response to what happened to Troy Baker awhile back in regards to Rhys, but even if Eddins did come back, there is no way in Hell that they'd be able to rerecord all of Claptrap's lines before the release date (if Claptrap is still going to be as big a presence in 3 as he was in 2, which AFAIK is the case.

2.) So, instead of calling Eddings out that his statements are completely untrue and squashing any rumors before they start blowing in the studio's collective face, the spokesperson decided to studio itself will abstain from commenting on it. Despite it being pretty clear Randy doesn't give a shit what the spokespeople or public relations tells him.

Imagine how bad of a look it is when one of your VAs says "I want to voice Claptrap, but I'm not putting up with X at the company, and was approached by Y to do it for free as I did before and said "no", and it doesn't help that said CEO and I are not on good terms after a physically assault happened at this specific time, date, and place, during this event" and the official response is "We can't comment right now on the assault, but we'd love to have you back as ClapTrap!", while outright ignoring the $12 million lawsuit and other claims of misconduct.

Especially when your ass-blasted CEO is talking about this matter as if he's an abuser or a rapist over something as trivial and benign as being paid for a voice-acting gig.

I'm not sure if Randy's even aware. Eddings blocked him and Randy blocked plenty of people who would be glad to call him out, plus who at Gearbox would want to tell him?

I'm trying to imagine what it would take to lose a fight against randy pitchford. The only thing I can think of is that Randy jumped him while he was in the bathroom and started wailing on him. I mean we're talking about a guy who let his gay pool cabana boy steal millions of dollars and who gets bossed around by his cow of a wife and his linkara clone of a son. He's not some alpha chad or some rugged individualist boomer.
 
If if Randy is telling the truth (and he isn't), but 2x scale seems like a really small paycheck to get someone to reprise a role they had done for free for you for like ten fucking years (Borderlands, Borderlands 2, Borderlands PreSequel, Poker Night at the Inventory 2, plus all promotional material and commercials).

Claptrap isn't just "some guy in borderlands" he's the character that talks the most and he's the fucking mascot character in a game series that's been going on for a decade. The only characters you could compare him reasonably (in terms of scope and "main role") would be Master Chief from Halo or Kratos from God of War and I don't think those guys are doing it that cheap. What a shitbag lowball offer to even, in theory, make.

I assume Randy just randomly started awkwardly grappling and slapping Dave, who promptly pushed him off him, shouting "what the fuck?!" but not wanting to escalate it into a brawl.
 
I have never spoken to this David guy, in fact I didn't know who he was until this story. That being said I believe him more than I could Randy. Randy has been proven to be a consistent liar about so many things that even if he had video proof that David punched him first I'd still be skeptical. I imagine he just threw a deck of cards at David to distract him and then punched him in the chest only to run away just leaving David more confused than injured.

This will be another case of refusing to take royalties in exchange for lower pay. Does Randy have a tard wrangler assigned to him? Because he looks like he needs one.

Randy is a very exceptional CEO, i'm surprised he doesn't have a carer.
