now I know what most people will instantly think of, 30 something bald guys making soyface over the switch. but to be fair to the kid in the photo (don't know if it IS supposed to be retro rick) he's just a kid, kids are easily excited and over exaggerate facial expressions when they're happy. And this was 1996. before soy was everywhere and in everything and consumption of it was seen as the hip, trendy, woke, and "right" thing to do. The most well know soy product aside the soy sauce was silk milk, and even then that was more or less for lactose intolerant kids or old people who couldn't handle dairy so good anymore.

That kid's yelling "THANKS MOM!" at the top of his lungs loud enough to wake grampa from his alcohol and oxy coma.

He's not soy-facing, he's actually fucking ecstatic and thankful to his parents.
