It's ok, because it's lawful. You wouldn't be able to give some acid to your pet without consequences, correct? You'd be charged with animal cruelty, would you not?

So there's a clear difference between controlled scientific research and someone just messing about.

It's the same logic behind abortion, it's lawful. Yes, human life is ending, but, it's ok! So long as the mother is doing it, ah! But if someone else is involved , it's homicidal.

Sometimes laws are just mean, and don't make sense. Ammiright?
