Words literally can't even describe how much I fucking hate this mentality, that this is the direction the culture took, against, what exactly would we call it, "traditional feminine beauty" perhaps?

There's just something utterly disgusting about the thought of hating big breasts and the like, the point of fantasy is that it's better than reality, it doesn't have to be realistic, people wanting to take the fantasy out of games, anime, comics etc are just wanting the world to have a little less joy and fun in it, a world that by the day needs fantasy and escapism more than ever, it's fucking nauseating.

I say words can't describe it but it's time like this that this quote from I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream applies, this comes close to describing how I feel about these people.

Her anatomy is fucked. The snake-like torso, ballon boobs and long limbs make her look horrifying, not to even mention one leg is way shorter than the other. Reddit screeching aside, definitely a pretty bad artwork. Prime example of "anime anatomy".

And anime anatomy is fine, when it's used for anime.

I think the question to ask here is: does the picture do what it's meant to do in its original context? Do the weebs who like that sort of T&A like it? Then it's fine. That's what we're making fun of when it comes to r/mendrawingwomen: they completely ignore the purpose and context of the art and just go "MALE GAZE BAD". Look at the CLAMP example up there. These guys would have zero space in their torsos for their internal organs, but the fujos lapped it up like honey back in the day. Even fucking CalArts, as much as I hate it, looks fine when it's used in its original context. Yeah, a midget with a dorito for a head looks goofy as fuck when rendered realistically, but when it's included in Steven Universe's world, it looks fine.

Anatomy gets stylized all the time. We're used to extremely fit superheroes due to comicbooks, but that stuff isn't very realistic either. For example, Chris Hemsworth had to film his shirtless scenes on the first Thor movie first because he couldn't keep up the exercise regimen required to look that swole through the entire principal photography phase. And there's no problem with that either. That's what art is for: showing us things that don't or can't exist.

I feel like this is going too much into "but muh artstyle!!1!" territory, but with anime. There are hundreds of well-drawn animes that are pleasant to look at, and that's the main problem with that specific drawing and some other anime styles as well: they look bad. The proportions are poorly balanced, eyes too big, heads bigger than torsos, curves either completely non-existent or so pronounced they look like a poor caricature.
For stylization to be done right it has to be appealing in one way or another. Anime stylization is way harder, because they reach for a higher level of realism than SU or, let's say, Gravity Falls. They sit on the very border of "arguably realistic but simplified" and that causes it to spiral into uncanny valley really quick. That's why, personally, I find butchered anime styles so much harder to look at than a blobby Steven Universe character. They're one step too close to actual humans.

Moreover, anatomy can be stylized to a point. One leg shorter than the other or long, disfigured arms is a shitty drawing, not a "stylization". Overly buff Jojo character or Anime girl with boobs the size of her head are to be argued, for some it might be appealing, for people not exposed to the media as much it can seem hilariously weird. I think that crying about "oversexualization" or complaining about evil men is stupid and pointless, and the endless asspating the subreddit does is stupid as fuck, but they're not unreasonable to find certain pictures unappealing.

No, they're not unreasonable to find certain pictures unappealing. That dancer for example is... weird. Not the most horrible thing I've ever seen, and if the girl was on a more normal pose there wouldn't be much to argue about in terms of style. Yes, r/mendrawingwomen would still reeeee about it but that's because she's got tits and they're not covered enough.

Personally, what I find funny (and highly mockable) about r/mendrawingwomen is their attitude. Sometimes they do have a point, but even then they tend to phrase it in the most sour grapes, passive-aggressive "I don't like it therefore it's shit" way possible and it makes it impossible to take them seriously. So fuck 'em and the badly-drawn horse they rode in on.
