Nice bot detection you have there Reddit. Oh well, it makes Reddit look more popular and active than it actually is which is a plus for them. Who needs dissent and differing opinions when you can just gaslight everyone into unwittingly participating in a manufactured echo chamber. Redditors are bonafide neighbor cattle.

I wonder if they're just collecting easy karma to then spam posts in other subreddits. Some subseddits require minimum age and karma to post.

The [word][word][four-digit number] names aren’t bot names, specifically, they’re the format of suggested usernames that Reddit generates when you’re making a new account. If you were making a throwaway account, for example, you might not bother with thinking up your own username, and just keep “IrritatedBadger5926” or whatever was suggested.

Or, you know, if you were making a shitload of accounts for some undisclosed reason.

It's engagement farming to make authentic accounts you can then sell to spam farms to either push advertisements or to look "organic" for propaganda houses. You can see similar in the replies of any popular Xeet. Plus Reddit is putting in systems for people to monetize their posts, so it's probably been ramped up further because now these accounts can make money off of it.

Yes I was gonna say that. When making a account reddit autogenerates a name to suggest which normally follows that convention since it is a good way to generate human understandable and memorizable names with a shitload of variation. The bot aspect comes from the fact they are not bothering to change it and copying the old stuff 1-to-1.

not to mention it's being done in places that get you lots of good boy brownie points, and lots of the exact kind of shit redditors eat up in the first place. karma in numbers, and if someone decides to investigate your post history, you look like a line-walking, well-behaved citizen of the most le heckin wholesome website on the world wide web.

I don't trust anyone with random 4 digit numbers in their names

I agree. That's why I went with three numbers. That way no one knows I'm actually an AI chatbot.

Anyway, do you guys like ice cream? God I love ice cream! Sometimes I dream of snowboarding through a valley of vanilla ice cream.

Is this where I'm supposed to smile and go "Ice cream, yum!"

There are sign up scripts on GitHub that use tor to make accounts, I would say @Sperghetti is accurate.

People used accounts for botting /place/ and brigading

Reddit is run by such fucking retards that I wouldn't put it past them to have fucked up a thread merge so badly that it screwed up the account names for every existing post. Though this bot farm shit has been known since 2016, I suspect the reason Reddit cracked down so violently on the Trump people is because they kept pointing out the obvious bot stuff, this directly attacks their advertiser money since the impressions are entirely fraudulent.

Their names are strange as well. Are those copied too, with a random 4 digit number added at the end?
Reddits default generated username in pretty sure. The throwaway I made was “late and gay 8 people have mentioned this already 1488” or something

Hey cuntler, edit your post cause we’re all too gay and retarded to read the thread before commenting.

Late Stage Capitalism is basically a doomsday prophecy for those that are on the far-left and are really heavily involved in the lefty doctrine.

It has everything a doomsday prophecy needs that are typically found in cults.

You have a prophecy about how the world is going to end and in this case capitalism collapsing (not much different when Heaven's Gate told their followers to commit suicide when comet Hale-Bopp showed up near Earth), you have a form of salvation for those that believe (in this case, the far-left believing that their communist ideals will make the world better), and you have a savior figure here that will show up and fix everything (in this case, communism).

Communists have been preaching that capitalism is at its end since the 1920's, roughly around a century after the fact. The only thing that is missing now is for every online communist to simply come together and drink the Kool-Aid together.
