The Queen back at Windsor after hospital stay

She is "in good spirits" after a one-night stay for preliminary medical checks, Buckingham Palace says.

The Queen spent Wednesday night in hospital for preliminary medical checks and is now back at Windsor Castle, Buckingham Palace has said.
The 95-year-old monarch returned from hospital at lunchtime on Thursday and is "in good spirits", the palace added.
The Queen was said to be "disappointed" after cancelling a visit to Northern Ireland on Wednesday.
She was given medical advice to rest for a few days, after a busy schedule of public engagements.
In a statement on Thursday night, Buckingham Palace said: "Following medical advice to rest for a few days, the Queen attended hospital on Wednesday afternoon for some preliminary investigations, returning to Windsor Castle at lunchtime today, and remains in good spirits."
The Queen was seen by specialists at the private King Edward VII's Hospital in central London, about 19 miles (32km) from Windsor. Her admittance is understood not to be related to coronavirus.
The overnight stay was said to be for practical reasons and the Queen was back at her desk undertaking light duties on Thursday afternoon.
The King Edward VII's is a private hospital in London's Marylebone used by senior royals, including the Queen's husband, the late Duke of Edinburgh, who received treatment there earlier this year.
It has been a busy period of official engagements for the Queen.
She was pictured hosting a Global Investment Summit at Windsor Castle on Tuesday evening alongside Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
An official record of the Queen's diary showed at least 15 other formal events during October.
On Wednesday, a Buckingham Palace spokesman said the monarch had "reluctantly accepted medical advice to rest for the next few days".
He said the Queen was "disappointed that she will no longer be able to visit Northern Ireland" - which would have involved an overnight stay.
She is expected to lead a royal delegation to the Glasgow COP26 climate change summit in two weeks' time.
Earlier this week, the Queen declined a magazine's award of Oldie of the Year, saying "you are only as old as you feel".
She "politely but firmly" turned down the award, but sent the Oldie magazine a message with her "warmest best wishes".

LoL never. Now things are even worse for her. Harry should watch that episode of The Crown where his great-great uncle Edward came back from exile to his mother's funeral, knowing it was the last time he would set foot on British soil. Maybe William will let him back for Charles' funeral, but probably not her.

The Queen had some restraint due to decorum Charles probably will not. Harry, Megs, and Andrew are turbofucked.

That’s the biggest problem with Charlie.

He has attempted to influence policy on many occasions, mostly regarding environmental issues.

While it appears that his heart is in the right place, he doesn’t appear or appreciate the wider ramifications of his approach.
 
Good riddance. Maybe the rest of the world will stop fawning over irrelevant UK royalty now that the old crone is gone. She was a terrible person with multiple suspicious deaths around her usually related to petty things. She was never even rightfully heir to the throne, the Windsors are usurpers to whatever meaning the throne of England has left. Which is either 'nothing' or 'entirely too much' depending on what you happen to believe.
 
The coverage of the new king being driven down the motorway in his fancy car made me think of the OJ Simpson bronco chase. Do we reckon Pizza Hut/dominos are ever going to release their figures for these last 24 hours?

No word of a lie. I have met many a republic Irish lad who speaks about Oliver Cromwell like he died 10 years ago.
And these are guys who only know how to use the internet for porn and race results.

The RA killed Mountbatten and he was actually semi in favor of a free United ireland, as he had presided over partition.

Being a strongly suspected nonce might have been the main motivation for them to blow his arse up.
 
How pissed do you think Boris Johnson is at the moment? Queen dies literally three days after he leaves office so now he doesn't get to have the historical note of being her last Prime Minister. All the glad handing and arse kissing from foreign heads of state he's gonna miss out on now, poor Bojo must be seething like hell.

Let's not forget he was responsible for the rescinding of the Edict Of Expulsion. So many reasons to hate Cromwell.
 
I go on a flight to London for some business and the Queen dies on the day I arrived. Now if only I could mobilise this clear super cancer-aids corona I have so that it targets dickless troons instead of rich 90 year old women.
