I honestly think that the industry is experiencing a bit of a shock from the fact that the next generation of consoles has been pushed out by at least a couple of years.
Lots of stuff that was probably going to be launch window stuff for the PS6/Xbox Whateverthefuck is having to be retooled to work on current day hardware (including the Switch 2) so bigger studios have fuck all to show off this year.
I don't get this Xbox exclusivity: both Gears:E-Day and Clockwork Revolution are still on Steam, Gears are even priced, with the premiere on 6th October....
What are they gonna do - refund people money, or say that this "exclusivity" is just time-limited and both games will be available on PC a year later?

I feel like no one talks about the thing at all and i can't be bothered to buy one despite the fact that i own every other current console and a PC/Steam Deck. Strong WiiU vibes off it. I know that where i am it never had stock shortages or anything and you could just go into pretty much anywhere that sells gaming stuff and buy one off the shelf since day 1.

Not exactly, as it's been selling decently well for what it's worth, and third parties have been supporting it up the ass compared to how often ports were made for the original, right now Nintendo just isn't making enough games to the point the ones they did make were originally supposed to be for the original switch before deciding they just needed a console with stronger specs.
It's not the "They are evil incarnate and if you're not pirating every game they ever made you're just as bad" angle you were probably hoping for, but it's the truth.
Nintendo has the most dedicated Dents in the biz, they don't have to deliver shit, this is the pitfalls of unbridled success qnd cornering an entire section of a market, stagnation.
my expectations were at rock bottom, so the fact that I got even ONE thing to be cautiously optimistic about (the new Spyro game) feels nothing short of miraculous.
I was talking to a buddy of mine about this - even though the Switch 1's launch year wasn't packed, we had tons of announcements of what was coming. Everyone knew Smash Ultimate et al. were coming.
We don't even know what's coming other than Pokemon Nigs and Gays, and another Fire Emblem game for women who smell like manwich.

I don't like Xbox first party stuff but the fact that they're actively trying to appeal to their foundational audience of dudebro chuds again makes me feel like we're finally turning a corner in this industry.

Maybe Sony will see this and remember who they used to be as well.
