Nolan's The Odyssey - Potentially could be epic or an epic flop.

I don't mind Morgan Freeman because he's a good actor, but I think he's the reason why people now think the Moors were all black (he played one in Robin Hood).
I wonder if this will cause problems down the line. Do we know that Greeks weren't black? Yes. However, considering the waning popularity of books, the greater importance that movies have on the zeitgeist, and the lowered likelihood of people going outside (and the higher likelihood of seeing random diversity when they do go outside) it makes me wonder if kids will actually think it was always like this.

It's already bad enough trying to explain how impactful this decision is from a story perspective to grown-ass adults who should know better (why are there so many people of different races? is this place some sort of metropolis or crossroads? have the immigrant populations been here long? if they have, why haven't they integrated properly? is there some sort of class system in place?) without being told "you can handle krakens and gods in your fantasy but you can't handle black people," let alone trying to explain the concept to people who have never even considered it before.

That is part of the bigger issue outside of just the woke inanery. They're making their versions, but soon their version becomes the version. Look at The Odyssey translations. I'd be apt to use Latimore's or another's version, but what is pushed is Wilson's feminist rewrite both online and probably college course reading.

First result SEO makes it defacto in younger people's algos, same thing will happen with the movie.

If Helen of Troy was some big tittie, thin Koran chick, would there be similar backlash?
Possibly, but from the ones defending this trash heap of a movie.
People are trying to use the casting for the upcoming Resurrection Of The Christ as a way to defend the casting in The Odyssey.

This is an Asian depiction of the Last Supper. This is fine, just like the casting in the Resurrection movie, because there is still reverence to the "prototype" (source material).

That's what these faggots do not understand. They have no reverence or respect for the source material, in fact they hate it, and being "enlightened", must make the "necessary changes" to the works.
