Not even a week out and the she-ra fandom, noteably tumblr as usual, is already full of projecting femcels claiming that haters are just old virgin incels who want to fap to she-ra...when we damn well know these women are going to schick to any two girls standing next to each other and call them their uwu pet lesbeans.

Becky, you're a grown virgin starting fights over a kids cartoon. It's not justified just because you're a woman and they're evil men.

(Some of them proudly claim to be from the Voltron or SU fandom. Do you not realise that those fandoms are infamous for being toxic? Are you not aware that you were the toxic presence in those fandoms?)

I don't know how anybody could be remotely proud of being in those fandoms.

The people who I do know in those fandoms are actually pretty ashamed of the fanbases for both.

I mean the cat girl looks pretty cute but even then I'm not gonna watch the She-reboot, besides Tumblr already ruined it.

Aka: Unfollowing people who preach about how everyone is a lesbian and how people who like the original better are just gross virgin men.

That whole reboot screams tumblr from the artstyle to the "no one is straight and cis uwu" so no wonder they immediately latched onto it. And I've heard the story itself is nothing groundbreaking or interesting, so it's really just for the people who want dat representation.

So yeah, I'm gonna avoid that fandom.

Honestly it doesn't look like a kid's show at all. It looks squarely aimed at the Tumblr-mindset crowd of adults/teens who view these sorts of shows. I bet if I sat my young cousins down in front of it they'd get bored immediately.

Actually, that’s another thing. Normally I’m not a big fan of the whole, “but muh children” argument, but I think it’s a pretty valid point here. Children are the ones watching these shows. Do you think they’re gonna be influenced by shitty social justice shows on Cartoon Network?

Children don't even watch them. Teenagers and young adults do.

Yep, what I have heard from parents is that kids find the new Shera really boring. I saw few articles where the show runner Noelle Stevenson talked about writing this show and it was me me me. What I like, what I want, what character I created in my first D&D game last month. Nothing about who is the target audience, what they want, why would they like the show or even what was great about the original show. It didn’t help that advertising campaign and articles sentenced around her eather. Compare to what Lauren Faust said when MLP FIM came out. Why she took hasbro’s offer to do the show, what she had loved about MLP as child, why girly shows tend to be boring, what about girly shows is appealing, what’s the focus of the series, why it’s going to be interesting, what compromises she had do with budget, company and time. Plus lots of pictures ponies and non of her. Difference between diversity hire and professional.

Lauren Faust wanted to make a show that kids would enjoy. It worked, and they did, and it got a weird periphery audience of adults. But kids actually enjoy it, and that's why it's been so successful.

It's weird, when Invader Zim became as popular as it did on Nickelodeon, one of the big reasons it wasn't continued (aside from censorship and parental concerns) was that it wasn't popular enough with its target demographic, which was 8-12 year old boys, and instead drew in an audience consisting of teenagers and adults who loved it. Nickelodeon seemingly made up for this by whoring out the show with merch, which was being bought by that target audience, who, unlike children, had spending power and didn't have to worry about parents doing the buying.

And then you have Steven Universe, a show that came about after the commercial and critical success of Adventure Time (a show that was popular with children and adults alike). It suffers from the same problem that Invader Zim did in that it's not reaching its target audience and everybody that likes it are teenagers and adults. But bizarrely, Cartoon Network is doing the opposite of what Nick did: they're stretching out the show as long as they can and barely making merch for it. Compare that to Adventure Time, which had a ton of merch. Like shit, I'm pretty sure Regular Show had toys released for children. I saw them in Toys 'R' Us several years back. SU? All the merch is either fan made, put out through WeLoveFine (which is also fanmade), or it's Funko Pops or other mini collectible vinyl figures. That's it.

With She-Ra, a show whose original incarnation was made to sell toys, I can't help but wonder, if the show isn't appealing to children and it's not selling toys, then it's pandering to an audience that is used to just streaming episodes and then buying fanmade merch. They're not buying Blu-Ray collections or T-shirts or hats or hoodies or toys put out by the company producing the show. They're giving each other money.

TL;DR, boy, oh boy, am I thinking way too hard about a show I'm probably never going to watch because it looks fucking boring.

Everyone feels loneliness, the fact she has clarify that her loneliness is lesbian just goes to show how thirsty and pathetic she is
But lesbian loneliness is so ~deep~ and ~special~ that nobody could even hope to understand it!

Funny they're self-absorbed in their gayness they forget troons don't have to be gay.

To be fair, whether straight or gay trannies still have a hard time finding a partner that aren't just fetishists.

Also how tf is lgbt relationships more "pure"? Do they just never think of lewd things or is every lgbt relationship just uwu hand holding and cuddles.
