Nevada pimp wins GOP primary, rejoices with Hollywood madam

Pimp Dennis Hof, owner of half a dozen legal brothels in Nevada and star of the HBO adult reality series "Cathouse," won a Republican primary for the state Legislature on Tuesday, ousting a three-term lawmaker.

Hof defeated hospital executive James Oscarson. He'll face Democrat Lesia Romanov in November, and will be the favored candidate in the Republican-leaning Assembly district.

Hof celebrated his win at a party in Pahrump, Nevada, with "Hollywood Madam" Heidi Fleiss at his side.

"It's all because Donald Trump was the Christopher Columbus for me," Hof told The Associated Press in a phone call. "He found the way and I jumped on it."

Hof, who wrote a book titled "The Art of the Pimp," has dubbed himself "The Trump of Pahrump," and held a rally with longtime Trump adviser Roger Stone. Hof was in the limelight in 2015, when former NBA player Lamar Odom was found unconscious at Hof's Love Ranch brothel in Crystal, Nevada, after a four-day, $75,000 stay.

If Hof wins in November, he wouldn't be the only brothel owner in elected office — Lance Gilman, the owner of the famous Mustang Ranch in northern Nevada, is a Storey County Commissioner.

Voters in November will decide on closing down brothels in at least one of the seven Nevada counties where they legally operate. The question will be on the ballot in Lyon County, where Hof owns four brothels. Activists are also gathering signatures to try to get a measure on the ballot in Nye County, where Hof owns two more brothels in the desert outside the city of Pahrump.

He painted the anti-brothel efforts as political retribution that's tied to his opponent, but Oscarson and the referendum backers deny any connection.

Most brothels operate in rural areas of Nevada. They're banned in the counties that contain Las Vegas and Reno.

Hof said Tuesday he's downsizing his business by selling off some brothels to focus more on politics.

Oscarson and Hof previously faced off in 2016 when Hof ran for the seat as a Libertarian. Oscarson won with 60 percent of the vote.

What's he pissed at? Did they not have any Taylor Swift costumes at the Bunny Ranch?

Russ believes he's a valuable celebrity endorser and spokesman for legal brothels, and that he's brave and courageous for showing his face and being an out-and-proud John.

He feels he should be the face of legalized prostitution and was raging because Hof wouldn't share this article he wrote:

So would this be considered more proof that grabbing by the pussy is a winning campaign strategy?

What are they going to do, expose him as a pimp?
Expose him as an enabler of rape and beating women, or possibly someone who does those things himself, or someone who sex trafficks or turns a blind eye to those who do, or someone who encourages/pays for abortions. The possibilities are endless. Most people are not aware of what pimping entails, they have a highly sanitized version from popular culture in their heads instead of the (really brutal) reality.

Hof and his operations have been under scrutiny for a long time. He isn't some street pimp he's a brothel owner that files for permits, follows regulations (including labor laws), and pays taxes. Two totally different professions.

Not saying he isn't scummy. But he's more dive bar owner scummy. Less crack-dealer scummy.

Are you telling me that sex workers aren't empowered strong womyn?

LOL I am extremely sure that Russell Greer will be extremely happy at this news.

Russ Greer was pissed before the election because Hof wouldn't share his creepy-ass op-ed piece on the Bunny Ranch site. He withdrew his endorsement and assistance. I'm sure Hof was really hurt not to have Russ on his side:

But today, it's a different story:

And Russ busied himself attacking religious folk in the comment section.

I vaguely remember a long time ago one of the main networks interviewed him and his employees and a feminist who was campaigning against prostitution. They then had a bit where they brought in Hof and some of his hos to meet the feminist and explain why they (the hookers) enjoy their work, and all she could say was "You girls are beautiful." Some of the best television I've ever seen.

If he was a pimp anywhere other than Nevada, I'd agree with you. But prostitution is a completely above-the-board business there, so those aren't safe assumptions.
