Assanti Brothers episode is up on TLC Go if you want to watch it. I found it good, but skippable if you don't want to see it. More about closure than anything.

OK, campers, it's time for the Assanti freakshow. Again.

I don't think I'll ever not be amazed that a human body can get up to and survive in an absolutely massive body.

Some backstory from TLC on Justin and Steven. And then a note (they promise!): THE FINAL CHAPTER

Let's hope so, because Steven is a whackjob psycho and Justin is a wet rag.

More clips of Steven being a fuckhead, and Dr Now kicking him out. Dr Now points out that (much like ALR), Steven is not serious about changing.

Justin opens a useless hobby shop. Is thar still in business? Maybe we'll find out.

Steven only lasted a week in rehab? Figures. Then still tried to get painkillers by abusing the emergency system. All those poor EMTs, having to haul his fat ass around. But he finally got a sleeve done, and loss 116 pounds at the next followup. He tries the teary, I care about you schtick with Justin, and Justin says Steven will have to earn his respect. Justin decided to get going on his own weight loss, and like Steven, gained a bunch of weight. Then, when he applies himself, he lost almost 50 pounds in a month (hear that, Big Al?). Justin got his WLS, and Pops, fucking mastermind that he is, scheduled both Justin and Steven's next appointment together. Justin said fuck this, and left.
Steven's goal weight is 250
Justin's goal weight is 245

Steven's legs are just as gross now as they were on the first episode, and he has a very odd bald pattern on his head. He's shaving his head over the carpet right next to his bed. WTF? Steven is trying to sound all martyr-like about Justin's health. "If he doesn't start taking his health serious, I may not have a brother." Yes, it's all about you, dude. Claims he can "make it on his own" - sure, with a lot of help from taxpayers.

First commercial break, at the 15 minute mark.

Justin: dad's meddling again, I don't want to be anywhere near Steven. Dad bought Justin a dog. Claims he has way too much responsibility at the store, is ready to get back to work. He's not giving up on the diet.

Houston: Steven is back for his next appointment, in his bare, nasty feet. Do people in RI really talk like Bostonians? He's "excited" about a loss of 4 pounds in a month. He thinks Dr Now should be pleased. Dude, you know he won't be. Dr Now says he should have lost 20 pound in last munt. Says Steven is overeating again, needs to get back in order. Steven asks why when he eats solid foods, he puking. You're eating too much. Dr Now says where are your shoes. Dr Now says you smell, take a shower with soap and water. Steven sounds like he's high af. Claims he showered the day before yesterday, Dr Now says take a shower, stinky. Stay focused with your diet and exercise, get yourself under 400 pounds, and he'll be able to have some skin surgery. Going to write a scrip for the rash under one of his giant folds. Get yourself back on track, come back in a month. Steven tries to claim he's not the same person he used to be. Sure, Jan. His feet are absolutely purple.

Hallway talk with Dr Gnome! He's very concerned about the dysfunctional Assanti brothers.

Steven would like to become a famous actor and work with other big names in showbiz.

Next commercial break at 30 minutes in. This ep seems to be taking for fucking ever. I will admit I do not get the appeal of the 90 Day Fiancee stuff. If that's your thing, more power to you, but I can't imagine any scenario where I'd want to watch these people do anything.

Back in RI with Justin. He is down to 553 and is setting up people to build model cars. Says he is trying to control his eating. Dad is going back down to Houston, Justin does not want to go.

Back in Houston: Steven goes grocery shopping with dad. Is he going to not wear shoes in the grocery store? Gross. Claims he will continue to choose healthy food and continue to make healthy choices. He hasn't been inside a store for years. Dad goes to get a scooter, snaps at Steven to get on the damn thing. Hearkens back to the totally not intentional slip off the golf cart in a previous episode. Dad is proud of Steven for pushing himself to get out of the house. Dad keeps calling Steven John, says he's getting aggravated. Me too, dad. Dad pays for the groceries. Steven says Justin is a very jealous person and immature. As opposed to himself, ER shopping for pain meds?

Next commercial break at 45 minutes in. Only an hour and 15 minutes left in this, thankfully.

And we're back. Still in Houston. Da says he talked to Justin and Justin says he got weak and dropped on the floor, says he needs to go back. Tells Steven he needs to go back to RI and won't be back to Houston, so Steven is on his own. Steven says Justin just wants attention. Gee, I wonder why Justin hates you. Claims Justin is just a little boy and he, himself, is a man, not a whiny little bitch like Justin.

Back to RI: Turns out Justin should probably have listened to Dr Now, amazing! Doesn't want to be in Houston because Steven is there. Doing a video call with Dr Now. Tells Dr Now he collapsed at work, had to go to the hospital, everything checked out. Says he had to go back because he was losing a lot of money. Dr Now says your health and well-being are more important than anything. Not a terrible video call with Dr Now. Justin thinks he doesn't think he needs to get his weight checked locally. He'll have to think about it all.

Commercial break, this time at another 10 minutes. Argh. Corona Hard Seltzer? Just drink a fucking beer.

Looks like the ads will take us to the next hour, so away we go!

Hour two of the final chapter (pleasepleaseplease) of the Assanti brothers.

We are back in Houston with Steven. Aha, I knew it! His blood work shows opiates in his system. Dr Now decides he can't treat Steven any longer. Claiming things are hard without painkillers, even though he still looks and sounds high af. He has a girlfriend now and she's coming to pick him up. He's going to Iowa to live with her and her daughter. Hopes this is a "pivotal moment" in his life. He was doing some kind of livestream and this woman said she wanted to get to know him. She came down to Houston, got a hotel room, sent a car to pick him up. WTF kind of person dates someone like this? He thinks he's going to be giving advice to the teenaged daughter of this woman. OK. What's the incidence rate of female feeders, I wonder. Claims he won't be so focused on food because he'll be focused on sex. Says his dad and brother are jealous of his massage therapist girlfriend. And put your hat on straight, loser, you're not some hip-hop guy. Says he still wants to keep up with Dr Now and get skin surgery eventually. He's sticking to the diet no mater what and continuing to lose weight, will not let this woman slip through his hands.

And just like that, 7 minutes into the new hour, more ads.

Back in RI. Justin is apartment shopping. Says he's ready to be on his own, free of everything that might hold him back. Claims he can't leave the store on a daily basis, leave it in someone else's hands. Dude, you can't be THAT busy that someone can't manage it for a few hours. Thought Steven was messing with them at first, saying he was going to move somewhere with a woman, doesn't care what Steven does. Dad says now that Steven's moving on, they're getting rid of his stuff, which makes Justin happy.

This is going to be the longest fucking hour in the history of this show. More ads after another 9 minutes. I guess the whole aftermath isn't as exciting as TLC thought it might be, so they sold a ton of adtime during the second hour.

Back, this time in videos from Iowa, where Steven has moved and gotten married.

Back in RI: Justin's still salty about Steven, is happy he isn't around. Dad and Justin are packing Steven's shit to ship it to him in Iowa. Justin says he has no idea WTF would want to marry Steven - apparently a woman who didn't want her face on TLC, as her face was blurred in their showing of the video. Justin says Steven is just an evil person, glad he's someone else's problem. Justin says Steven tried to reach out to him on social media, and Justin immediately blocked him on all his social media accounts, AND his wife's social media accounts, AND his stepdaughter's social media accounts. Scorched earth, my dude! Haha, Justin asks dad if he wants to send Steven his porno collection, dad says shut up. Justin's "help" appears to be holding down tape on one side of a box while dad seals the box. Justin is considering this a new era in his life because Steven is not around, and they don't have to see each other ever again. I don't think I've ever seen such visceral hatred of a sibling on a show like this.

Sigh. Commercial break. Just half an hour to go! We can do this and be rid of BOTH Assanti brothers and their enabling dad forever.

Back. In RI! Justin hasn't talked to Dr Now in about five months, and because he works so much, he didn't go to the doctor to get his weight checked like he told Dr Now he would do. So, he's at a clinic now to get weighed, "feels" like he lost a lot of weight, and we know that phrase is almost always bad news. Thinks he should be in the 400s somewhere. Weigh is: 432. Holy shit. 172 pounds lost since the last appointment, 230 pounds total. He's calling Dr Now to tell him his new weight. Dr Now says make sure you stay on track. 200 more pounds to get to your goal weight, and get skin removal, so stay on your diet and exercise, take your vitamins. Right now, he has no far-in-the-future goals beyond losing more weight. Dr Now says lose another hunded pound and you can get skin removal surgery. Talks about Steven's progress being less significant than Justin's. Haha. Dr Now says if Justin wants to get skin surgery, he needs to plan to be in Houston for awhile for recovery. Stick to the program! Dr Now says he's proud of him. Awww. For the millionth time, Justin says he's "running a successful business now".

Four years

Back in Houston. It's been two years since Dr Now heard from either brother. Steven has asked for a video appointment. He's not very optimistic about Steven's progress.

Ad break! OK, just 15 more minutes of the Brothers Dim.

Back to Steven reaching out to Dr Now for some kind of help. Steven says he was around 518 around three months ago, hasn't gotten a weight since then. Steven shows Dr Now his nasty feet. Dr Now says it looks like his lymphedema looks worse on the right leg. Steven, of course, is no longer following the diet, pizzas, cereal, whatever. Dr Now points out he's probably stretching his stomach out. Asks about pain meds, Steven says he hasn't had any pain meds in awhile, but he sounds stoned. Apparently his attitude causes arguments in his marriage - shocker! Says his wife wants to divorce him if he doesn't get his shit together. He isn't eating the meals his wife makes, instead getting takeout and delivery like a jackhole. Says he wants to come back to Texas and "fix everything". He's asking Dr Now to take him back on the program, clearly. Dr Now says, so you're getting a divorce? His wife, offscreen says, "If things don't change, then absolutely." See, this is why you shouldn't get involved with people like this dude. Dr Now says if you come back down here, changing things is up to you. Apparently, Steven still calls daddy to order him pizza? Seriously? Dr Now tells him - probably for the millionth time - that it's up to him to get his eating and behavior under control, as otherwise there's nothing he can do.

Hallway chat with Dr Gnome! Steven is backsliding, appears to have gained all the weight back again. Nothing more we can do for him, because it doesn't look like Steven wants to change. At this point, there's nothing more we can do for the Assanti brothers, and we wish them all the best. Good for you, doc!

And that, thankfully, is a wrap!

I will say this, I actually feel bad for Justin.

Yeah, he may be a bit whiny, but can you blame him with Steven as his fucking brother?

I thought the way he was treated on this episode was shit. He literally said to his father at the beginning that all he wanted was to get the fuck away from Steven (can you blame him?) and nobody cared about that. Dr. Now was still shitting on him for leaving Houston, even though it should be clear to anyone with half a brain why he wanted to get the fuck as far away from there as fast as possible.

Then, at the end when he actually lost 170 pounds, Dr. Now still shit on him because "he could have been in the 300s if he stayed in Houston." Jesus Christ man, show him some love, the dude just lost 170 pounds when almost nobody keeps losing weight on this show when they leave Houston. Justin probably would have killed himself if he had to stay in Houston with Steven.

I hope Justin is still losing weight and his shop is doing okay. They didn't follow up with him at the end, probably because Justin was just done with all the bullshit.

Toward the end, I was starting to feel a teeny bit for him as well, mainly because every piece of the program where they were with Justin, it was still the Steven Assanti show, because they were all still talking about him. But of course, we know this is exploitative television and the thing that gets the most eyeballs is whoever is the biggest trainwreck. We certainly know who that is in this little triumvirate. Justin could use a little spine, though, to stop allowing Steven to define everything he does. Maybe with Steven really out of the picture now, he will (so would getting away from dead, to be honest).

Their Dad needs to grow some balls, though, seriously. He's still ordering pizzas for Steven out in Iowa? Give me a break.

Hopefully Justin continues down this path and we can remember him as one of the few who got a redemption arc.

Next commercial break at 30 minutes in. This ep seems to be taking for fucking ever. I will admit I do not get the appeal of the 90 Day Fiancee stuff. If that's your thing, more power to you, but I can't imagine any scenario where I'd want to watch these people do anything.

My mother does and so I watch it vicariously through her. It mostly annoys me but I'll be real and say it can be pretty lulzy. I'm honestly surprised we don't have a thread for it here (or do we? Last time I checked we didn't). Lots of loser men getting women from third world countries, fat loser weirdo women getting men from Africa and the Middle East Amy Ramadan and Chantal Sarault-style, etc. Occasionally you get a couple that actually works out and is endearing.

90 Day Fiancee is hilarious, and if you ever still somehow feel bad about yourself after watching My 600lb Life, watching it will make you feel a thousand times better.

Justin could use a little spine, though, to stop allowing Steven to define everything he does.

It's hard to grow a spine when you've been taught all your life that not upsetting your brother is the family's #1 priority and any time you try to speak up your parents yell at you.

When you've been taught all your life that your brother will always get his way because the family just doesn't want to deal with it, it's hard. Hell, in some dysfunctional families, the scapegoat is outright told that their feelings don't matter and that the golden child is numero uno.

Been there, done that. Got over it, moved on. It's like someone (ahem, ALR) blaming some shitty childhood thing for every shitty thing they do, forever. I'm not particularly sympathetic to people wallowing in that bullshit.

Assanti Bros

Since Dr. Now is finally giving up on this I'll update on the father as well. It had been obvious watching over the episodes that both Justin and Steven had psychological issues. Though Steven's obviously were compounded by drugs and his attitude. It's highly possible that a lot of the issues Justin has are due to his broher's treatment of him. If what we saw on screen is any indication of what wasnt aired. The fathers need for them to get along didn't help much. Sometimes when you have someone seriously mentally ill in the family some family members for their own health just have to distance themselves.

Have to say after watching all the episodes. Steven meets many criteria of anti-social personality disorder, he obviously does not have any ability to empthazise with others and only cares about things if HE gets caught, not the consequences of the behavior but his ability to get away with it.

Father tried to meddle by forcing the two brothers to be together. Don't really think hes malicious he seems to feel hes failed them and is trying to force to fix it. Understands that Justin needs more help post surgery healthwise then Steven needs coddling.

At end of episode Dr. Now hasnt heard from Steven for 2 years and Justin for 1.5 years.

Fully admit this took me so long cause i was MOTI that this woman let her 13 year old daughter become a part of Steven's shit and it is shown in a phone call to producers by both of them that she may be just as bad as him.

The World of Warcraft stuff makes me hope that hes one of the whiny brats I've ganked along the way.

Middle Finger MSG from Steven and Wife

Ususally leaving AMA is a bad thing, in this case probly smart. His father bought him a dog to deal with his stress.

Month 2:
He seems to be doing good with his store. He had a bunch of customers and seems to run events working on making models. He's been seeing doctors in RI to follow up on his surgery.

Down to 573. Says store is helping with his social anxiety issues since he has to work with people. He truly is smiling and enjoying himself which was good to see.

Call with Now : He's doing good but when asked why he left ama he states it was because of his store isntead of saying it was because of his brother. Will set up appt with local clinic to check progress. Justin wants to focus on work more then getting weight checks.

Month 4:
Is searching to find an apartment so he can have his own place. Doesn't even know that Steven married. They took Stevens stuff packed it up and put it in garage and will get rid of it soon.

Month 5:
They are shipping Stevens things to him. He states Steven attempted to contact him via social media so he blocked him, all his account and his wifes accounts and his wifes daughters accounts. It is intersting to watch him speaking calmly and seriously and not with his brother REEEEEE-ing behind him.

Month 6:

Without Steven in Houston he wants back into program when he needs skin removal.

At clinic:
Weigh in : 432 lbs; 172 lb loss since surgery.

Goal : lose 100 lbs within year and skin surgery will be an option.

Phone Now tells him that hes doing a good job and should good progress compared to his brother.

Hasn't seen Now in 1.5 years, but has not spoken or contacted Steven either.

Status : Possible Sucess.

5 mins in already counted 13 pill bottles.

He has a cat...poor cat....

Calls brother a delicate flower and that he crys like a baby and ruined their "brothers appointment"

"I'm not the type of person who gives up"

Month 1:

Weign in : 554 lbs; Recent loss 3 lbs; total loss 176 lbs

Says hes excersising by walking, weights; hes drinkign water and "trying to eat solid foods" He eats so much he vomits. Now patiently tells him again he has to eat smaller amounts. He is not bathing at all, possible not doing other things either.

Now : "I have a couple people back there puking from the smell you have."

Goal : Take meds, go to therapy, stop carbs eat protein. TAKE A SHOWER. Clean the roaring infection under his skin folds.

Can't go to grocery store but when his Dad comes maybe he'll go for him. He wants to be a famous actor one day and be famous.

Month 2:
Dad came to TX from RI and is taking him to the grocery store. Hes learning indepdence by having his father take him to the store because hes too scared he says to go himself. He makes his father pull his pants down for him. Decided to block a row and take selfies. Though hes in an electronic scooter with a giant basket his father is walking out with all the bags in a cart.

"Justin is a very jealous type person and a lot more immature then I am too."

He's a big man living on his own and his brothers just a baby who needs his dad.

Month 3:
Blood tests have revealed high presense of opiate drugs. (Is anyone surprised?)

Dr. Now states he will no longer treat Steven now.

His response now hes met a woman and has a girlfriend so he has to clean and make the place smell better. Hes moving in with her and her 13 year old daughter (Any person who would bring this guy around a child needs a serious bitch slap from CPS)

Interesting fact: The doctors in this program as mandated reporters could be possibly be held liable if he harms that child since he announced it on the show he was moving in with them.

Says they talked online after meeting on a social media site she came down got a hotel sent a car to get him and the "rest is history"

"I'll lose weight further because I won't be as focused on food, I'll be focused on sex."

Brother and father are jealous of his girlfriend. They call her a prostitue and a porn star. She isnt shes a massage therapist. She bought a beautiful house in IOWA for him to move him in and take care of him. (Chubby chaser?) He is acting like hes not kicked out of program.

Month 4:

They got married when the got to Iowa by a judge. Neither father nor brother in attendance.

Month 5:
Video of him in bed nude with his wife asking her how much she loves him and giving the camera the finger.

2 years Post Month 5:
Shows up after 2 years wanting appointment with Dr Now after being kicked out of program.

Tells Now hes gained weight. He appears to be drugged out. States he doesn't walk often. Says he sometimes goes out to shop for collectables. Admits hes completely stopped the diet and just sits there and eats non stop the same things and in the way he did before. Eats every 1 to 2 hours. I'd feel sorry for his wife, but theres no way she didn't know what she was getting when she was even a part of the middle finger video sent to the producers.

Now says it looks like hes up to 700 or 800 again.

Says hes not on pain meds, but Now can see right through it.

"She tries to help me but I don't listen. I never listen." Admits he uses manipulative behavior against his wife. Admits to fighting a lot with her. Says wife wants a divorce, but he doesn't want one. Still calls father to get him to get his takeout/delivery from Iowa. Wants Now to let him come back to Houston to get help wtih Lymphodema.

He is completely out of it definitely on drugs.

Now : "Are you getting a divorce?" Steven : "No....." Now : "Isn't that correct?" Steven to wife: "Is it?"

He is now bragging about how he manipulates and starts fights with his wife and others. Remember there is a 13 year old daughter that his wife BROUGHT into this.

"Still wanting pain meds but she won't let me get them" (It is obvious hes getting them.)

Now : "And you don't wear any shirts?" S : "No I don't wear a shirt"

Now states that he hoped Steven would continue to make progress and suprirse him. There is nothing program can do for him. Does not beleive Steven wants his life to change. Says they have done all they can for assanti brothers.

Status: Abhorrent Human Being.

Justin is the neckbeard meme brought to life. The second picture of him smiling in the store was nice to see.

How much do y'all want to bet Steven's wife is an actual washed-up deviant porn star and we'll soon become privy to feeder videos ft. Steven uploaded to the darkest recesses of the interweb? I'm not one to believe a lot of what comes out of Steven's mouth BUT if they really did call the wife a prostitute and porn star, what would make them do that?

Coliesa McMillian, the star of TLC’s show “My 600-lb Life,” has passed away. She was 41.
The mother of four died Tuesday at a Louisiana hospital, TMZ first reported. An exact cause of death has not yet been made public. Her funeral services will be held Thursday and Friday in Plaquemine, Louisiana.
“TLC is saddened to learn of the loss of Coliesa McMillian, who shared her story on ‘My 600lb Life.’ Our deepest condolences to her family at this difficult time,” TLC Network tweeted on Wednesday. When McMillian appeared on the eighth season of the show earlier this year, she weighed 643 pounds.
McMillian had a traumatic life. At 30, her husband was arrested and she found the strength to finally leave him, moving her family to Louisiana, where she met her fiancé, Melvin.
“It was almost like we instantly fell in love, you know, and me and my kids moved in with him, so life got better for awhile,” she said of meeting Melvin in a clip TLC posted in March.
But at 39, she had a heart attack, and doctors were unable to operate on her due to her size. “So they never fixed my heart,” she said.
Then, Melvin was killed in a car wreck.

“That devastated me, but I did what I had to do to get through it, and that was to eat so I didn’t fall apart,” she said.
She is survived by several siblings and her four daughters, who motivated her to go on the show.
“I’ve allowed food to waste my life. Just the hunger and the want and the crave. It’s taken over my life, and I’m exhausted. I’m exhausted of this life. Livin’ like this is not livin,’ ” she said in the clip. “I can feel the weight weighing me down. It’s like my body’s trying to give up. And I can feel it — but I can’t give up. I have to be here for my kids.”
She was aware that her obesity may one day prove fatal, admitting, “If I don’t lose this weight I’m going to die. I know I’m going to die. Because I do feel like a ticking time bomb. My heart could give out at any time.”
