Is it true the show has been cancelled? Just saw something on YT about it being cancelled due to lawsuits from previous participants or their families (deceased participants). I Googled it and saw nothing about it being cancelled so I wondered if the YT vid was click bait?

Seems to be clickbait, I haven't seen anything about cancellation across socials.

Show’s not canceled. Nothing has really gone through with the lawsuits yet. This show is way too much of a cash cow for TLC to get cold feet and cancel it.
 
Let me preface this by saying that I'm glad Margaret was able to lose enough weight to get the surgery. But omg...I hated Margaret and her mother! If there's anything worse than a fatty ballooning up to 700 pounds and making excuses, it's a crying fatty that has ballooned up to 700 pounds and making excuses. And just the way her mother would constantly baby her. Especially during that therapy session. I really felt for Dr. Paradise. The man sure had his work cut out for him. A codependency that awful will require many years of therapy.

just watched the episode with the chick with the face piercings and no helper. like watching Bill Murray in caddy shack. she lost the instructions so many times, couldn't believe he maintained professionalism with her. she really did need to be in a group home.

I've got some days free to catch up on the show now- except for these two episodes I'm a season behind.

In all honesty, I wouldn't waste my time catching up on Season 9. Everything was interrupted by Covid and every episode was boring as utter shit (as evidence, look at how dead this board was). Skip to Season 10 (this one) ... you won't miss anything.

This chick was fucking aggravating but at least she did something. I can't stand it when people cry at the drop of a hat but she was just way too much for me. She didn't wanna do shit, the mom i could see was getting tired of her but their combined trauma was just too aggravating to look at. I agree with the poster who said the backstory sounded like every cliche fatass backstory ngl. What really got me though, were the sheer amount of fucking animals. They had 5 dogs, one for literally every size, and one cat. I have to ask who fucking cleans up after these animals if they live alone. Assanti had a cat and it shat right there in plain view but he clearly didn't clean up after the thing. Why is it that most of the people on this show have dogs or cats and if they have dogs, they're rat dogs or shitbulls?

So Ontreon'e episode pretty much ended how I expected it would. The man emitted so little motivation. Oh and I'm like 90% sure the woman he's with only wants to marry him for a green card. And as soon as he dies of fatness, she'll be living free.

I know it's a low bar to set, but I honestly liked the guy because he was clean,he actually wore clothing and his home looked clean and sanitary. Oh and he had life goals, was going to classes for ministry and worked until he was unable.
Most of the trainwrecks have never worked or had goals. They lay in bed naked all day in squalor. (Margaret didn't even get dressed for therapy!).
So yes I get optimistic when we get cleancut well articulated people on the show.

I agree he looked like he had it all together (i think his wife and mom has a lot to do with that)...but i think hes one of those people that will do as little as he can get away with so others wont argue with him.
He seemed to get off by playing others. The way he would speak to his mom and wife shows that. He would say things in a way that gave off a "...but you know youre going to do it. right?" tone.
He said things in a joking matter but he really meant what he was saying because if you laugh after anything than its meant to be laughed at. Right? The other person can't get mad at you or tell you you're doing it wrong.
I do like that he was able to graduate. At least he has that, but the actual working part is yet to be seen. He was full of excuses as to why he wont be able to perform the necessary duties until he loses the weight but now he is able to use the graduation as an excuse when others say he hasnt done anything with his life.
 
Umbreon's episode was very predictable and Musa was refreshing. Please give me more women who are tired of this shit please. Imagine being an African wanting a green card and marrying the epitome of irony compared to the majority of your continent. Dude joked too much and "waited on God" just as hard as Schnee did. The fabled overly religious black who thinks God is a magical fairy to heal literally everything wrong ever.

I don't blame you one bit for this here. It was nice to see Ontreon actually have a goal and he met it. But his dismissive attitude towards Musa pissed me off and pissed away that one positive thing. Dude complained the entire time he was with the nice looking coach friend he had and he just constantly CONSTANTLY emitted laziness. I don't think i'd listen to a preacher who keeps putting shit off or complaining about walking more than 2 steps.

This shit here. Notice how Musa at the beginning gave him a plate of actual good food and then when the mother cooked it was the pizza carosel and crinkle fries. Musa the entire time oozed resentment for his lifestyle and the way she instantly spilled the beans to Dr. Now and how Dr, Now said to his face "did your wife give up on you" at the second appointment gave me life. She's gonna leave him once the opportunity gets there. Only when he gained again did Ontreon start actually being serious. The whole thing felt like a game to him.
 
I saw a parallel between Ontreon and Schenee,and that was how both of them SAID the word,but didn't LIVE the word.
Both of them resigned themselves to remain passive "waiting on God" to fix them. And here I thought Schenee was very" knowledged "too!
They used their faith as a crutch and ignored the passage in the Bible that says and I quote..
"Faith without works is dead".
In other words, if you do believe in God(your choice) and your faith helps you,great. But they have to actually have to work towards the reward. They can't just sit back on their asses and eat everything they need to avoid and expect to succeed.
It's God,not Jenny Craig.

Dr.Now told him point blank that he might not be alive in four months. After he left the room, dude looks are his fiancee and says "well that wasn't that bad" and laughs.

I can't imagine how it would feel to be in love with someone with that little will to live. It made me angry for her. She obviously cared about the dude (even if she was using him). If she wanted him to die, she wouldn't have been mad that he wanted cheese on his rice.

The whole episode was smoke and mirrors. If you watch him closely, he smurked at everything.

He was basically conning everyone. He used God as an excuse to not do anything. He became a pastor but at no point in the episode did we see him actually help anyone. We didn't even see him talking to any friends because he said everyone who knew him died? Umm, then get new friends?

This guy wasn't a shut in like a lot of these awful people. He had no excuse to not have friends.

They edited the episode to make it look like he was a good person but if you watched the way he interacted with people and listen to the way he spoke, he was just a snake oil salesman.

It's really quite clever on TLC's part. Those people are wizards.

I bet when the supersized episode comes out and you watch the unedited parts it'll probably be more noticeable what a piece of shit he was.

I firmly believe that guy was totally okay with dying. Like Now kept saying, 'actions speak louder than word's' and the only time he got upset about anything was when Now was going to give up on him. It made shit real.

I'm now watching the supersized episode with Margaret and I honestly don't think I can get through it. It's been on for 13 minutes and her crying makes me want to stab puppies. I saw it once, I don't need to put myself through that hell again. She and her mother make my skin crawl. Not only is her mother's relationship with her unhealthy, it's downright disturbing. The story that she left with her other daughter makes no fucking sense at all. And why the hell is she so okay with seeing her daughter naked all the time? If they make blankets for elephants you can buy one and cover your disgusting excuse for a body.

I need to go watch kittens playing to clense my soul.

(They said they would eat her father's leftovers but he was 1000 pounds? Leftovers don't exist in the world of a 600 pound person much less a thousand pound person. None of these facts make sense!)

Edit; okay I'm sorry but her mother is honestly worse than Margaret. She says point blank she doesn't understand why Margaret felt abandoned!? Because you left her with an abusive monster! Then she says she told her she didn't leave Margaret "I left your daddy."

No you did not! You literally abandoned your daughter and to add insult to injury, you took your other daughter with you! What this woman did is fucking criminal!

I don't understand why Margaret hasn't poisoned her coffee. She has no will to live, she might has well murder her mother and spend the rest of her life in prison. It's honestly the most productive thing she could do for society. They both provide nothing to this world.

Someone take TLC away from me. I honestly feel like it's made me loose faith in humans as a species.

Edit; I forgot her mother pushes her in a wheel chair even though she can walk! Alright, that's it. She's doing this to punish her mother for abandoning her. It's the only way my brain can rationalize her creepy behavior.

My god, there was a puddle of liquid under her while she was getting in the car but the rest of the street was dry!?

Just watched the Onteron episode and honestly, I don't think he came off that good. Even the editing was just standard TLC surface-level humane. He was always trying to bullshit everyone around him, including himself. He'd be all "I'm doing my sermon homework!" while ordering a caramel frappe and a cinnamon bun.

The most frustrating thing about him was how good his wife was. Most deathfats don't have someone who can and will cook solid, healthy meals for them and point out all the bad choices they make. His mother was the enabler but I don't even think she lived with them.

The reason I think the editing was weird because its been a long time since I've seen an episode where at the point Now was willing to give up, he weighed MORE than when they met.

Even if these fats loose a couple hundred pounds, by the end up majority of episodes they don't end bigger than they started.

That's some serious dedication.

Tbh I wasn't that surprised since he had admitted to stress eating while working on that grief sermon Dr. Paradise assigned to him. Like the therapy had the opposite of the intended effect lol. He seemed to be using his work on that as an excuse to not keep his eating in check. He didn't ever get that much lower either, 20 pound loss at most.

It’s obfuscated, but the fat story at beginning of the show is always told in chronological order, and her parents divorce is brought up when she talking about her 20’s.
