Well, since I have never been in the market for equine semen, I can't say whether I'd be a fan of GLOCK branded pony spunk. I'm sure it's perfectly serviceable and decent quality, just like their pistols, but also just like their pistols I'm not a customer of their's.
My bro just got a Huxwrx .22lr can. He got tired of running his Q Erector on his Ruger pistol because of how dirty it was and wanted to see if the flow-thru style cans would run cleaner. He has been impressed with it so far and claims that it does foul his Ruger much less than the Q. He will use the Q on rifles and the Huxwrx on pistols.

Yeah suppressed .22 is always gonna be dirty. Tbh the most impactful thing you can do is shoot the nicer clean .22 designed for supressors. The bulk pack stuff likes to leave tons of lead and carbon fouling. Nice .22 is still not that more expensive so that's what I shoot in handguns. Also it's subsonic in all pistol barrels.

Absolutely, in my 21a bobcat everything is basically subsonic but the true subs are always quieter. Most manufacturer's velocities for .22 are based on use in rifles so the subs are made be still be subsonic in a 16in rifle barrel. One of these days I should crono subs out of the bobcat to see how slow they're going.
Speaking of suppressors the dead air wolverine has been pretty mid. I did buy it purely because it looks like a slavshit suppressor but it was a pain to get on my WASR and even after that it doesn't feel like its doing much "suppressing" but I have only fired 60ish rounds of subs through it.
Speaking of ammo, why is everyone complaining about 7.62x39 prices again? Its not great like it used to be sure, but I can still find it aplenty at literally every LGS and big box sporting goods store around me, and I live in a fairly libshit area. I've seen people like that blind guy on youtube and a couple others cry about 7.62 prices and availability but then go on to focus on 5.45? If 7x62 is dead then 5.45 is beyond dead, like totally obliviated from the universe dead. It seems like every few months now we re-do the "aks are dead" cycle were 7.62x39 is totally dead because it isn't 4 cents a round anymore and you can't mount x or do y but then two weeks later the same people who say that are all giddy over running 5.45 aks.
Also has anyone bought anything from h&r? I had heard they are on a separate production line from psa and I do really want a 604 to go with my brownells proto-15 but if it's made by actual PSA employees I'd rather not purchase one.
To the surprise of NO ONE, SOCOM is talking about a URGI replacement in.... 5.56mm using higher pressure rounds that'll fit right on a standard M4A1 lower.
The US Government has officially put forth a request for what they're calling the "Hypervelocity Improved Capability Assault Rifle" or HICAR to Upgrade or replace the current URGI.
Specs are
-Must be compatible with both "Hypervelocity" and standard 5.56 Ammunition
-Proposal implies ammunition solution will be called "M855A1+"
-This appears to be an Upper replacement program and not a contract for new rifles.
-Barrel is to be between 11-12inches
-Ammunition will be at or below 82k psi chamber pressure, but the rifle must also be able to withstand pressures beyond that to future ammunition developments
-1 MOA, No 10 round group can exceed 2.5 MOA
-Will be designed around us with a Huxwrx Black Magic until it can be replaced with a dedicated suppressor
-System weight must come in at a max of 8lbs but optimally 6.5lbs unloaded and unsuppressed
-Max length from muzzle device to end of buffer tube no more than 31 inches, optimally 28in
-MRBS is set at 800 minimum, Ideally 1600
-MRBF is 5000 and 10,000 respectively
-Minimum barrel life is 8000 rounds, ideally 20,000
-End of barrel life is determined by the point at which muzzle velocity drops by 5% with M855A1 or it slips below the accuracy standards
-Rifle must be ambidextrous but with modular safety
-I'm not sure if this is standard contract language or not but they're open for the potential of a foreign rifle if it's built in America "If not already in BASE, Industry to provide industrialization plan to produce HICAR in the United States by the completion of the contract (T). Designed, engineered, and assembled in the United States (O)"
Yeah so unless there's a Dark Horse here this contract feels to me like it has only two possible winners, Sig Saar with their HYP rounds or Geissele with Federal Peak Alloy ammo. However Shellshock NAS-3 cases are apparently proofed at 85k PSI so it's not impossible someone like Knight's or LMT could win
Recently some nerds at a biotech company grew a chicken without an eggshell (which is apparently something Japanese high school students were able to achieve with plastic wrap but whatever) and these same nerds also have plans to apparently bring back Wooly Mammoths (technically they want to heavily genetically modify Asian Elephants to be hairy) which got me to thinking. Assuming it's the future and the Russians have allowed the reintroduction of these Pseudo-Mammoths into Asian Russia and Siberia, what would be the optimum rifle to hunt them with? My Mind immediately jumped to the Carl Gustaf 20mm
It can propel a 1,666 grain tungsten cored projectile at 3116fps, producing 35,915 ftlbs of Energy. A .950 JDJ produces 38,685.
The gun weighs in at 24lbs, but if one applied all the weight savings applied to the 84mm Carl Gustaf over the years it could get down to 10-12lb. Modernize the Ammunition, get a more optimized projectile for big game hunting, add a saltwater countermass, maybe a computerized fire control system and you've got a rifle that can kill any land animal on earth at range.
Val with "Shadow-18" kit, essentially a muzzle booster replaces the suppressor
KAK industries is now specifically advertising a product designed to work with FRT's. Another step in cultural normalization of FRT's
Statistics for the failed Benelli AUPO cartridge
The only gun to ever fire them was the CB-M2 SMG, which had a top mounted hammer impact the ring primer of the cartridge
G43 with 20 round mag in use with a Lithuanian Anti-Soviet Forest Brother
Pelo Submachinegun, A Finnish clip fed SMG that I don't understand how it works. The idea was no not need magazines
Now, how I think this thing works is it's an Enbloc system where the clips remain static, while the magazine springs (which have to be manually set by the firer with every loading feed cartridges, but I'm 99% sure that you're supposed to load two clips at once into the spring box, but then you would need to have some kind of a complex internal feed lip system since you don't have staggered cartridges and this is a really stupid system.
6.8x51 M60 with GNB-200 barrel and PXT Rifling topped off with an MFMD
I'm late, but I haven't kept up with this guy (or really internet gun culture) in years but holy shit.
I read "energetic materials" on the GoFundMe and I immediately thought "what the fuck am I reading? Did Dugan break bad? Is he teaching people how to produce meth/stimulants?" Not that doing that should be illegal either but I realized after reading a bit more that "energetic materials" is just goyspeak for (REDACTED)
You can pretty easily make accurate hits out to 400m with 11.5, and that length has been used since vietnam on the xm177e2 so they have reliability for it down pact. It really do make it more maneuverable when combined with a suppressor and you don't lose that much lethality, especially when combined with the high pressure ammo they want. For high speed low drag government murderers it makes sense to want a gun that can go from broom closet fighting to open fields.
I just picked up my psa complete lower I bought and it came with a shit ton of blemishes all over it. It’s great to spend 20 plus on shipping fees to get a blem lower that wasn’t marked as such
Can’t wait to deal with the customer support jeets tomorrow morning!
My great uncle dropped dead last night. massive heart attack. he was gone before he hit the floor. A few years ago he gave me his company issued S&W combat magnum. He was a company man in a time when that could be deadly. it's a very nice gun. hardly ever fired.
To be fair mostly it just made me giggle to over react so much.
But no, you are objectively wrong and shortening the barrel with gun not blowing up is basically the only real modern internal ballistics challenge worth overcoming right now.

Ask the XM7 how that's going. It's trashing the guns. Go for something reasonable. Your arm isn't going to fall off carrying a rifle a few ounces heavier.

Has nothing to do with the short barrel length. Much more to do with Sig and Army procurement under Biden.
There is cool stuff on the horizen. Ask you perfered AI bot about what comes next for barrel materials. Cool stuff if they can get over the delamenation issues.

Biden doesn't change metallurgy retard. They need more pressure because shorter barrel. Barrel needs to be way tougher as a result. Holy fuck. Also it's horizon.
