goddamn, they're still doing reshoots for the upcoming Captain America movie

Disney has zero hope of recouping that movie's budget, let alone turning a profit on it
I just learned they're bringing Liv Tyler-Betty Ross for this one too. So that's total of three Hulk supporting characters in a fucking captain nigger movie.
Hulk is not allowed to have a solo movie, not allowed to interact with his supporting characters. And Hulk himself is basically dead too because "they talked and worked things out" or whatever the excuse was. Great job.

I'm sad Planet Hulk got relegated to Thor Ragnarok. Though at this point I wouldn't want Marvel to touch anything I enjoy.

Is the Captain America thing some sort of tax write off fuckery, or are they really that desperate for a hit (which will never come)? I don't even care enough to pirate the MCU anymore, let alone pay money for it and I can't be alone judging by the numbers.

My schizo hypothesis has been that they're getting paid so much behind closed doors to push DEI narratives, and employ DEI talents in the process, that they don't even have to worry about whether they turn a profit. But the fact that they're floundering with what direction to take tbolts and now captain falcon suggests that's coming to an end, unless they're doing reshoots to adjust their propaganda in response to the left losing power.

Wasn't there something on featuring an israeli character only for the war to make Disney decide that removing a Jewish character from a film is actually totally PC?

I feel bad for Mackie, but none of these reshoots surprise me. They're terrified of people not liking the new Captain America outside the safety of a TV show finale.

It is a legit desperate attempt at a hit but they spent so much on it that it will become a giant tax write off.
At this point, the reported budget is $400+ million so it has to make like $800 million just to break even.
Ain't no way this is making a profit.
$750 million is tops what I'm guessing this can make.

From who though? It's a Captain America movie without (the real) Captain America, and it has a Hulk villain (literally) without the Hulk. I know the MCU still has a few diehard fans, but I can't imagine them boosting the numbers to that modest, yet heavily optimistic goal. In other words, lol.

when it was first announced Blacktain America was about the only upcoming MCU movie I would have paid to see. He was the only guy still around I like. I hate their Spider-Man, Thor Rapeacock ruined him and Hulk in this franchise permanently for me, but then I eventually saw the Cap and Bucky show and was like well, nevermind they ruined the Falcon too. it didn't help when I found out that they weren't actually doing Cap villains but Hulk shit that would have been relevant 15 years ago. and then the fact Ross is president told me I don't need to see that movie because it's not for fans of Cap, fans of Falcon, fans of Hulk, or anything but another movie about Trump, add that with the behind the scenes shit and the fact this movie is arriving like 5 years late, no thank you.

New trailers from that Disney 23 thing in Brazil. Red Hulk is weird to me, not sure if its the Harrison Ford CG or the old man chest hair, just ew. Also the CG in general for the Hawk wings and such is so, so very bad looking.

Thunderbolts looks like it could be a decent action movie with no preachy shit in it. Lower hopes for Brave New World.

this trailer for Cap looks more like an actual movie with things happening than the last one but it looks terrible. thunderbolts looks like a bigger waste of time because other than Bucky it's just Z-list who gives a shit characters we saw in movies we forgot. it'll be better than Cap but that's like saying this piss in my cereal is better than the turd in your cereal.

You know I feel bad for Falcon as a character. No, seriously.

Sam Wilson is a good character! First black American superhero, insists and is accepted fully by Cap as an equal partner, and outside the occasional shit retcon or dramatic plot twist is treated with respect by writers and treats others in-universe the same way. He's had good storylines and bits and his Falcon identity he not only made his own, not only has led to using the powers creatively, but even his costume has gotten some slick redesigns while keeping the classic iconography. Yeah, if he became Captain America in... any other period of time? I don't think comics fans or culture war retards alike would bitch. The dude legitimately earned the right to be Steve's successor and yes, I think his Cap uniform is actually pretty snazzy looking. And knowing because "comics!" Steve'll come back eventually, FalCap would be no worse a stint or concept like Iron Man Rhodes, Thunderstrike, Ben Reilly Spidey, and the like. And those are all characters who no one has an issue with taking up their mantles in case the actual mantle-holder is MIA or out of commission for a while.

The problem, then? He became Cap in the DEI Era. Like, it actually sucks seeing the character get forced into stupid shit like Falcon and the Winter Soldier and his lines being such obvious mouthpieces, or this current Cap movie coming up that's an obvious disaster in the making shoving in so much Hulk stuff and Captain Israel and failing to deal with the worst villain of all, Disney meddling. Falcon's a great character in the Cap mythos and him as Cap really should've been perfectly workable! And yet....

Yeah not like he built his career on scifi or anything.
Ford is the great self-loathing actor. He hates every film he's famous for. I imagine he wishes people remembered him for his bit part in the Conversation rather than Star Wars.
