The positive reception of Snipes probably killed the new Blade. The only thing that seems to be working post end game is nostalgia bait and Snipes would be a cheap hire if they can tard wrangle him. He also needs money and will likely accept a 8 figure check to cuck out to a strong female character

I sort of thought Snipes in DvW was less an in joke about the slow production with the "there's only ever gonna be one blade" line and more a confirmation that movie's never happening no matter what. I wouldn't be surprised to see him again but I'd be shocked if this movie ever comes out. I could see Ali showing up as Blade somewhere but his own movie ain't comin.

That's what I told my dad as we were walking out of the theater. I was genuinely under the impression that it had already been canceled at the time

It was dead before that. If Snipes was enough to kill it, it was never viable to begin with. Stillborn. Also, even if he was willing to cuck out, he is probably smart enough to realise that such a movie is no career resurrection. He will take the Deadpool money and call some favours. His name carries weight still.

I don't think even if he needed money bad Snipes would ever do a passing of the torch to a daughter Blade movie. He's always been sort of weirdly into being Blade. I'm sure he'd do a movie co-starring a daughter character but I don't think he'd do it at all if he died or took a backseat. Deadpool was different because it's not a Blade movie. shit Blade 3 is as terrible as it is, because not only was Goyer a first time director but Snipes didn't like the script or what they were doing so he just didn't do anything.

He sat in his trailer and smoked weed all day and didn't film hardly shit so 70% of that movie is Blade stand-ins, CG blade, or improv shit the rest of the cast and director had to make up because he refused to do most of what he was supposed to. which is kind of hilarious to me, imagine trying to scrap together a movie like that. Snipes will show up in secret wars or doomsday or whatever the fuck for a quick moneyshot of McGuire, Jackman, him and some other characters people who are 30 give a shit about but he wouldn't work with the Disney marvel machine on his own solo Blade thing because he'd just tank it if he thought it was gay and they'd waste time and money.

I read their excuse for Ali's Blade movie being postponed a 30th time is NOT that the scripts suck and they want to make blade second fiddle but it had no multiverse so it wasn't the right time. bullshit. Blade is so simple to do it could be a $30 million dollar R rated movie and it'd make like 10x that easily they're just too incompetent to make anything without over analyzing and corporate focus test think tanking it to the point they ruin it.

Pretty sure women are the ones making MCU decisions and it's why they can't figure out Blade as a character, while they go through the trouble of making an Agatha series.

this is exactly the type of corporate decision making that has killed modern media. they can't make anything without basing it on focus tests or "market research" so some random women who watched wandavision because it at the time was literally the only thing not designed for children 10 and under on D+ liked a character so they made a whole show about it.

It's retarded. It's not even a popular character in the comics she's a footnote, let alone the fact the character in the shows has almost fuck all to do with the comic one in the first place. It's absurd, we got an entire fucking show about some cunt nobody cares about, we're getting ironheart another show about some cunt nobody cares about, and we have had 15 years we could have gave Don Cheadle a War Machine movie. You know, a character who has been popular in marvel comics forever.

at least she hulk, even if it did suck was about a character people like and had wanted.

Wesley Snipes has always struck me as an actor who is an actual badass. I don't know if he can or cannot actually fight but he sure as Hell has the attitude. Most action stars are just that. But Snipes I can genuinely see saying "fuck that" to a script that he thinks is too pussified no matter if they throw millions at him.

I can see them not being able to cast anyone else as Blade until he's dead, by which point there'll be the technology to do a full CGI version of him convincingly which his six kids can own the rights to and ensure is true to their dad. Fuck it - maybe there really will only ever be one Blade! Imagine - it's 2036, they're doing a Blade movie, someone suggests casting someone other than Wesley Snipes, fans are outraged, call it disrespectul. AI Wesley Snipes does an interview and says "some motherfuckers always tryin' to iceskate up hill", studio backtracks and agrees that the new movie will indeed cast Mr. Snipes, alongside two of his grandkids in supporting roles.

I could get alongside that.

Well I watched Venom 3. Or the first third of it anyway, I walked out. For reference, I see movies essentially for free, and it's not even worth that.

It felt a lot like Morbius, in that I got the sense that they wrote and filmed enough for a Netflix series and then tried to cram it into a movie, and the result is an ADHD supercut of necessary shots and dialogue and pared down action sequences. It's also clear that they had no idea what they were going to do following the last one, almost the entirety of what I watched was a parade of exposition dumps. It felt a lot like the Transformers movies, where they're trying really really hard to construct a story that justifies human/military involvement in what is effectively a wrestling match between aliens. But the wrestling match isn't even compelling enough to warrant the effort. Or the time it takes to get there.

About what I expected, to be honest I only went to the theater to test drive a car repair. Glad I didn't pay money for it.

The Kraven trailers are looking better and better in comparison, and that's a sad state of affairs. Honestly, Spider-Man aside, Kraven actually has a chance to turn out to be the best Marvel adaptation since before Covid solely by sticking to the formula and having nothing to say.

When you look at the (allegedly) anti-man stance of a lot of modern Lucasfilm and why they can't seem to get the Rey movie past the script stage, the same environment surrounding a lot of the MCU doesn't seem that far-fetched.

Spiderman might be good, the other movies were alright to pretty great.

Wonderman has racelifted Simon Williams, so if the actor is decent and the story is otherwise the same, it might be ok. Doubt it though. His origin is based on the Avengers still being around to combat, and who knows what state they're in now.

Daredevil might be good if it's a fraction as high quality as the original netflix series. Given how he was treated in Shehulk, all signs are grim.

Ironheart will be shit. There's no saving that idiotic character and they'll probably ignore that she murdered a bunch of cops in the Black Panther sequel.

Eyes of Wakanda will probably be shit.

Marvel Zombies could actually be good if they really follow the original comic, but knowing them, they simply won't.

I remember that I watched What If, but I don't remember anything about it other than Ultron/Vision slicing Thanos in half with an infinity gem. Or something like that. Doubt the new one will be worth half a fuck.

Agatha All Along's over now. The only things I know about the finale are that Agatha dies and becomes a ghost and Tommy (aka Speed)'s soul is in a new body with Agatha and Billy/Wiccan going to look for him.
