Spoken like a true edgelord pedo: "How dare you enjoy something fun with explicit morality?! Real adult comics should be about grown up subjects like rape, demon worship and how right wingers are bad!".
If the guy wanted to have a point he would address the underlying cause and perpetrators in the (then encroaching) consoomer life style rather than just stick to its victims.
I completely agree with Alan here. I still think he's very childish (he loves the gollywog books for god sake and those are for children, justifying it by saying "we'll the character has a good sense of morals) and he doesnt seem to get that the MCU isn't being watched by 60 year old men and instead for 30 year old white women but when you look at She-Hulk how can you not agree with him?

Watch the She-Hulk finale now and the leaked script was bang on the money.

EDIT:
Well that was a thing. If the show was actually as funny as it seems to think it is, that last part would've been entertaining. As it stands, it just drab. Easily the worst MCU Disney+ show to date and it's not even close.

At first I thought that poster on the wall said "Archive everything", wow shoutout to the farms! Maybe it is...

The dark age of comics was widely regarded as a bad step (that I think nearly bankrupt Marvel), and it was more to garner the edgy 13 year old crowd than manchildren. It was also partially caused by Alan Moore's work which was put on a pedestal to a ridiculous degree.
Nowadays comic book sales are in the shitter and are more of a propaganda machine than actually depicting any heroes.
It's true that Miller and Mooore were pretty much what made the edgy 90s but they for the most part were writting bangers in the 80s. That the stupid fucks that followed them learned nothing outside of "violent edgy = mature" is another issue.

For me the biggest lesson to learn is that nothing worth mentioning has been written on the last 3 decades from the big publishers outside of a few very specific exceptions.

Basically when your creatives don't own what they write and a status quo must be kept suddenly doing anything mildly compelling becomes wishful thinking.

Stack on top of that how most writters are dumb fucks without real lifes that "learned" their fiction from the same dregs and/or diversity hires and it's no mystery that everything is absolute shit now.

Basically if you want to read a comics with some soul you either read independient (good fucking luck, for the most part it's the same lifeless retards that write for the big publishers that haven't had their "chance" yet), or look in the european market (I know very little of this but highly suggest the Metabarons) or the asian one (which is also full of derivative shit but it at least isn't nearly as preachy and you can find cool stuff if you look around enough).

Also, Moore was 100% right about Graphic Novel being a made up term to make the manchildren feel inteligent.

There isn't much difference between a manchild and a 13 year old, and it's still targeting outside the "child" demographic...

Moore is a fucking hypocrite, but he's also correct in his assessment.

The term isn't for manchildren though, the only people who use it are fart sniffers who want to divulge themselves from the "lowly" comic crowd.
In general "making up a sophisticated term" is reserved for people who want to appear smarter than the masses.

Moore himself is a middlebrow but he's a middlebrow who did good work and can tell when other middlebrows exist. He says he hasn't read a superhero comic since Watchmen wrapped up but he certainly has written a ton of them - Killing Joke, Man Who Has Everything, Tom Strong, Youngblood, some other stuff from image, that book 1969 was it called? Not to mention League of Gentleman and V for Vendetta are essentially capeshit. A gang of heroes with powers including invisibility and super strength? A guy dresses up in a mask and fights an evil government? From Hell is the only popular book of his that approaches non-capeshit but even then it's basically capeshit-adjacent - wandshit but edgy - which is how you can describe most of his other stuff. His obsession with the occult is essentially just because he wants to have superpowers IRL. It's been known since Miracle Man that he'd love to be a superhero so he can put those fascists like Thatcher and Reagan in their place. Still 100 percent right about manchildren infesting a hobby that should be for children and teenagers tho. As well as how characters from the 60s shouldnt be the stars of big blockbusters 60 years later

legit has Moore ever had a single work that was an entirely original idea instead of "what if somebody else's idea was THING but all like, pervy and murdering and shit"?
he's not wrong about modern capeshit and dipshits, but still he's not exactly kicking from any high ground

I like how everyone forgets that Watchmen was supposed to use the Charlton Comics characters that DC just acquired at the time, but DC told him & Gibbons to redesign the characters since they wanted to play it safe with their new acquisitions. His magnum opus only had "original" characters because his editor told him to make some.

Having now finished the finale, She-Hulk is officially the worst of the MCU shows. A competent writer could have actually made the meta shit funny and interesting, but it just felt like the writers gave up. Like they had no long term plans and just said fuck it at the end.
That's what I felt skimming through the episode again after my first watch. I could see a version of myself enjoying that hyper-meta sequence, but it wasn't funny enough before or during to really feel like it earned it.

So haven't watched the finale, but was the ending of She-Hulk basically even the main character agreeing the show was shit and essentially agreeing with all the people who hated it.

Honestly that is funny only because the fans who were defending this shit literally were BTFO by their own show with She-Hulk supporting all those incels and manbabies they whined about.

Show is still shit, but the schadenfreude is worth it.

Could you all stop vague posting and tell the rest of us what actually happens.
Everything gets bad for She-Hulk, but then she gets pissy, leaves her show and goes to the writer’s room to demand thing be better, then goes and talks to the “MCU AI Bot” or whatever and makes everything be better for her. So instead of changing herself or recognizing her flaws, she just goes “meta” and changes the reality of the show so everything goes her way.

Oh, and Hulk has a teenage son now. If that sounds out of nowhere with no lead up and thrown in at the last minute…yes. Yes it is.

Apparently Universal's lock on Hulk ends next year, so they're scrambling to set up Planet Hulk. The actual arc, not the scaled down thing from Ragnarok.

The show really is the epitome of modern urban women
