lol, a while back I was about to play this again on an emulator. I tested porting the saves into an english Pokemon Stadium 2 rom but it wasn't compatible, so nyeh this thread'll get me my fix just fine. As a tribute, I looked up a list of the pokemon names from the translation and named everything I caught after them.

There's a pretty funny bootleg translation of Pokemon Green too, it doesn't reach the levels of this one but it's good for a quick fix of engrish.

Have you tried a japanese copy?

I'm sure that'd work but then it'd be a hassle to figure out what moves I'd be using when I upload them to Stadium, so I just went with official english so I could play both games easily enough

The "Lap" gifts us with a punch in the face.

We don't take too kindly to this, and proceed to do what I can only assume is wielding a key like some kind of impromptu knuckleduster.

...I'm not even sure if I have a street map. Or a Town Map, for that matter. Nothing to tell me that I've arrived in "Jieye City".

Fun fact: "Jieye", when translated into Chinese, then into Japanese, and then back into English, means "Completion." This is known as irony.

Distances must be different in Bizarro Poke-world.

Shortly after leaving Completion City, we run into a strange man living all alone. He gives us a Sun Stone...
fall down.PNG

...Which, after he starts sperging about fruit, we quickly realize is merely a Berry. We hurriedly make our escape from the fraudster.
rouy.PNG

As soon as we leave the house, we are attacked by an ant cunningly disguising itself as a spider. Seriously, what kind of spider only has six legs? We attempt to capture it, but then realize that Wusiji Dr. failed to provide us with any Pokeballs. We escape perfectly instead.

In the middle of the night, we finally reach Elf Grandfather's house to pick up a mysterious package for the good doctor. This is all starting to smell a bit fishy... I suspect Elf Grandfather may be some kind of drug dealer.
