New Booshcraft is up, he's essentially stating the obvious with his titles at this point

A nuke plant is not a bomb. If it were to meltdown or be... damaged(?) you wouldn't have to worry about much unless you were right at it. Or it caught fire and that spread the radioactive stuff. Or it flooded. How can you prepare with that scenario?
All you can do is flee. Or install lead shielding but your air amd water still come from outside.
I guess stock up on iodide tablets atleast that will buy you time with your most sensitive body parts.
Maybe a sealed off shelter next to your house
Its an interesting thought experiment on your end.
The radiation from a reactor event can really only hurt you if you breathe it in. So it's probably best if you learn not to inhale. Not prepared at all for disasters. I live between two nuclear plants, the closer of which is a bit less than an hour away, and people looked at me like I had two heads when I asked if there was anything I should know about disaster prep (in the very unlikely event that something were to happen....)
I don't know what's happening, but in the last 5 minutes the area upslope from the main vent started looking like some Mount Doom sfx.

I think the mountain is smoking a lot tonight, really dark thick smoke that makes for a really dramatic effect when the venting activity is seen behind it/in it; it's definitely pretty wild looking, that's for sure.I don't know what's happening, but in the last 5 minutes the area upslope from the main vent started looking like some Mount Doom sfx.

A couple have been big enough I heard thunder. On a side note, anyone else been noticing sporadic little flashes of white in the feed? Nothing that's lighting up the whole sky, but if it's really particulate heavy smoke I wonder if we're seeing some sparking here and there. Nothing like full volcanic lightning, but something like it, maybe.
If you look very very closely in the lower left of that picture you can see one midget carrying another towards the lava while being chased by what looks to be Russel Greer.
When that happened there was also some kind of small tornado. I thought it was just a smoke column until it zipped offscreen. What looks like a giant glowing hill of lava has also been forming at the bottom of the hill. Has the flow been backed up or something?
Edit: I'm slightly retarded. I backed up the footage to see that the lava is coating a hill that was already there. Either way, interesting to see that happen and I'm still curious to know what caused it.
Man, I went back to find this and I'm totally mystified; it takes about five minutes from when it first appears to when it moves offscreen (hard to give a set timestamp because this stream doesn't seem to have the internal clock), and it's hard to say whether it's something flammable in the lava stream letting off smoke and moving really rapidly, or a little twister moving really slowly. When that happened there was also some kind of small tornado. What a wild night. Lots of strange smoke and wind activity, I guess.

From what I saw of it, it seemed like a low velocity vortex fed by cool air coming in from the sea and warm rising air from the volcanic eruption coming together just right to make a gentle little tornado. It was probably a fire devil.
I saw that when I got home from work last night.Didn't catch it in time to screenshot but one of the messages on the bottom of the screen is basically THERE WILL BE NO MEGATSUNAMI! EXPERTS SAID NO! STOP TALKING ABOUT TSUNAMI!
If you're a man of God why do you know what Lucifer looks like? That guy on the videos looks like Lucifer, so I'm not going to click on the links, because I am a man of God.
Lucifee? No no my friend. This is a man truly born in the wrong century. In days past he would have set sail with Columbus, Magellen or Cortez. But it's the modern era so all he's got is Youtube. That guy on the videos looks like Lucifer, so I'm not going to click on the links, because I am a man of God.
