La Palma is rumbling - What are the implications of a 40 foot Tsunami along the east coast?

Damn my straight-laced by-the-book procedure! If only I had a partner with a devil may care attitude. :'(

I think so.

Must be a fair amount of pressure under there if the island keeps getting holes in it, or is the surface just that unstable?

...and now it looks like the lava from one of the other vents has gone into the potential new one? Kinky.

There is a new vent 1km south of the original and yes a new vent is at the foot of the original

Problem is cameras cant really focus on all the vents at once. Looking forward to drone footage

The area where the side vent connected to that lava mound collapsed a little bit ago and it looks like the lava is trying to shear the whole mound off of the cone.

Man, that was a hell of a one to be able to go back and watch, it's another one of those things where you can just watch apartment-building sized chunks of rock sort of tumble very slowly down into the flow. Got so bright for a little bit that you couldn't even see the eruptions going on up above, though this lava seems pretty viscous in comparison to the other stuff and didn't really tidal-wave out.

I really wanna see what's going on over at that new vent, hopefully someone gets a camera over that way to check it out in the next day or so.

The problem is its behind the camera view. You can vaguely see it...the area is off limits in general so im not expecting any 24:7 cam stream because the area that could look at it was evacuated

We have a few videos of it and that will be it until the drones do there thing

I know that the area downhill of it is pretty much a lava wasteland right now, but I'm kind of surprised someone hasn't looped around and come up from the south end of the island to try and get an angle from down there; is that downwind where it's just too hazardous from ash fall and volcanic gasses? These livestreams have thousands of people watching pretty much around the clock, I can't imagine there isn't money to be made.

Screencap 2x playback to keep file size down. I cannot unsee the owl effigy on right, must be friends with z0rg the hellephant.

Dear La Palma friends. It's clear at this point that you are beyond the help of mere mortal men. What you need to hold back this demonic flow is a Wizard! You're in luck! New Zealand just fired the one they had on the payroll. You can probably snatch him up cheap.

i feel sorry for the people living on the island. tons of buildings are destroyed and what isn't destroyed is covered in ash and sulfur.
gonna be one hell of a cleanup.

The fact you guys aren't all replying with "blub, blub, blub" make me doubt your happening credentials, if this volcano goes dormant I'm taking your badge.
Well, no promises unless the author is God of course masquerading on KF. But to the Author's credit of this thread, he started posting PRIOR to the first eruption and picked it for eruption even though there had been earthquake clusters previously over the last few decades with no Eruption.

But he called it this time prior to the first eruption, so you gotta give him the kudos - it was a big call. Even if there is no Tsunami, he put his money where his mouth was and called that there would be an eruption.

Bushcraft Bear doesn't feel safe in his house anymore. He is planning to prepare to set up a tent elsewhere on the island. As the situation on La Palma gets worse with the earthquakes, air quality, etc.

A shit ton of ash

EDIT: Another picture from the start of the eruption and one from today
